Don't give up on the new seasonals, I have now golded all three using my DS3, so it is certainly possible. The Subaru event took me about 2 hours of restarts though!

My ticket prizes:
FIAT: Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo (P)
LOTUS: Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car (P)
SUBARU: Audi R8 Race Car (S)

A big thank you goes out to SHIRAKAWA Akira for the Fiat and Lotus tune
& Rotary Junkie for his Subaru tune... couldn't have done it without these!

Could you post the tunings? Been really struggling on the fiat for a few days and the other 2 cars are terrible to drive in there stock conditions

golded all events 2 days ago 2 times my ps3 and brothers...

its not the easiest challenge.... but never the hardest.....

i dont like the crying people.... if PD read this they take out this events....
and so all guys have to cry....

ignore this challenge if you cant handle is.... btw eifel k car cup brings the most money

I don't see what you are getting at here..?
I really enjoyed the challenge of these events and hope PD release more of the same in the future 👍
I'm just encouraging the people struggling to not give up!
It's important to practice, get your lines nailed, maintain corner speed so you have as much momentum as possible on the corner exits leading to the straights...
The feeling of accomplishment when you cross that line in 1st is worth the effort!

yeah this races are great... the best at the moment, BUT many people here and all over the internet are crying this events are too hard - if PD reads this, bye bye to this events... and ALL people will be ****ed off agaín

They don't HAVE to race them then. This is only 3 races in the entire game (at the moment) if they want the tickets that bad, just get them through trades. PD must cater for everybodies tastes and there are a lot of people very happy with these new events, including myself... I think (hope) they realise this! 👍

It is possible. I did it with a DS3 and others have. It is not the easiest challenge so don't get distressed if you cant do it. There are plenty of people in the same boat as you.

These races are more than doable with the DS3.

They are just an exercise in learning to drive an individual car with certain power and handling characteristics, that may not be totally favorable.

You have to adjust to those characteristics, and get the most out of them.

Absolutely doable with the DS3. 👍 You just need practice & get used to the comfort/sport tires. You need a complete different driving style compared to racing softs.

The Expert seasonal reminds me to the very first seasonals, before they all got nerved to a house wife difficulty level. Good old times. :D

 I hope PD pulls out more of the challenging seasonals in the future!

I did also did it with a DS3, so its possible, the one that I had to work harder was the Subaru, but this Seasonals were the best in a long time, good payout, good XP points, and very good challenge.

This!

Maybe we should start some sort of poll to get a view on the numbers of people who love/hate these new seasonals...? I actually think the lovers will be a bigger number...
Anyone know how to do this? Out of interest

I've golded the Fiat 500, but i cant get better than 3rd with the wrx and no better than 5th with the Elise (< i hate that car!).

Took me about 3 hours worth of restarts before i managed to gold the Fiat challenge but i think i need someone to come to my house and gold the other 2 races for me lol!

I have silvers on all three with a DS3, and that's about an hour on the WRX, 30 minutes on the Lotus and second try with the Fiat. Now I'm wondering how I catch the leader in the Fiat when he's 23 seconds ahead after the 5th lap...

I absolutely love these events! It took me a countless number of attempts at the Fiat event but I finally beat it and it is such a rewarding feeling to have done so. I actually had an easier time beating the Lotus event over the Fiat event but it still took me at least a dozen attempts. Now I need to start the Subaru event. Can't wait to try it!

These types of challenge actually help you learn the tracks, learn the characteristics of each car, and how to drive a better line. This is how challenging every race in GT5 should have been.

I've been able to silver with the Fiat and 5th with the Lotus and Subaru. I've hit a wall with this events. Time to go back to school and finish the license section I guess. Not a bad idea. I won't give up!!!!!!!

Here is how I drove Fiat around Trial Mountain circuit. I won by .3xx of a second.
Trial Mountain Map

Full throttle through turns 1,2, & 3.
Off the gas, no brake, through turn 4. Apply full throttle at apex.
Off the gas, tap brake, turn 5. Apply full throttle at apex.
Full throttle through turns 6, 7 ,8.
Off the gas, tap brakes, slow to 61mph through turn 9. Apply full throttle at apex.
Full throttle through turns 10 & 11.
Off the gas at the top of the hill, tap brake, turn 12. Apply full throttle at apex.
Off the gas, tap brake, turn 13. Apply full throttle at apex.
Full throttle though turns 14 & 15. (clip the inside of turn 14)

repeat.

First lap I ran a 2:07.xxx and each sequential lap I ran 2:03's and 2:04's. If you can't run a 2:07 or a low 2:08 for your first lap then restart the event because you won't gain enough time to win.

Certainly a difficult task Golding all 3! I've got gold with the fiat & that was fun, used a tune from here, tried a couple until I found one that suited my style. Silvers only on the others so far but I'm not giving up!
I want more like this please PD :)

Could you post the tunings? Been really struggling on the fiat for a few days and the other 2 cars are terrible to drive in there stock conditions

Here is a link to a thread listing different tuning:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=207589

I personally found SHIRAKAWA Akira's Fiat & Lotus Tune to be spot on & for the STi race I used Rotary Junkie's Tune, which you can find there too.

Bear in mind these tunes won't turn your car into an easy win, you still need to put in the practice to perfect your laps.

i used RJ's tune for the sti but i changed the front spring rate to 11.5 and the torque split to 40/60 and for some reason i couldnt adjust the downforce with the stock spoiler so didnt bother with that and had a close ratio gearbox

for the fiat i set the top speed to 133mph, the lsd was 10/12/5
ride height -20/-20
spring rate 6.1/4.5
both dampers 9/4
arb 3/3

camber 2.5/2
toe -.25/-.20

i havent tried the lotus yet

Thanks for the link. I have silver in the fiat race and bronze in the Subaru, but that lotus race is a right pain :) hope this will help enough

As has been said, it's absolutely doable, and without wishing to sound pompous, I don't even use the analog sticks!!.

I had to restart the Fiat race multiple times either because I hit the wall after the first tunnel or was getting caught up with the other cars in all the wrong places. If you're driving at the right pace, you shouldn't have too much trouble. I've not yet to solved the oversteer with my own Elise tune, so it took me a few attempts to get into taking the banked corners tidily.

The STI was a little more difficult, I used Greycap's tune. My lines on Laguna are admittedly crap, so it was a matter of just trying again until I put in good enough laps. I eventually managed it after 7 attempts.

forgot to mention i changed the steering sensitivity to 7 on the sti
just passed the elise one using shirakawas tune :)

I too am at silver with the Fiat, but have cut the gap down to 9.xxx. I am using a modified version of the SHIRAKAWA Akira tune but may bite the bullet and go for the whole thing. My biggest issue seems to be getting caught up with traffic at all the wrong places, notably in corners, which mess up the apex and then the exit.

I did try using a mid-speed turbo but could not get the HP below 66, so it would not let me participate. And as I have been driving it, the HP has gone up to 67, so I had to ditch the turbo and do other tuning. Too bad as the extra torque with the turbo seemed to give better lap times.

I do my Fiat practicing on the first FF Seasonal as it also has the same course, but only 3 laps. End up last every time but its worth 23,000 credits

I am at 6 with the Lotus after one attempt with no tuning, and 4 with the STi, after 2 attempts, with minimal tuning. Need more time in a day!

Oh, and I am using the DS3.

Choice of controller has little effect on these races. It's all down to tyres (and staying off the grass). If you're struggling, then I'll guess you use RS tyres almost exclusively.

Use the builds provided in the links above, build the cars, take them into practise mode and, well, practise. Once you can nail consistent 2:04s at Trial Mountain, 1:03s at Tsukuba and 1:35s around Laguna, you'll complete the challenges just fine...

I never use these tires, and I'm struggling. So why don't you leave your RS insults out of it? Your post would have been fine without that thinly veiled insult, as if anyone who can't beat this event only uses RS tires.

I ran slower than that and still earned it. I had 2:09.7 the first lap and the consistent 2:03.5-2:04.0 lap times. I may of gotten away with it cause on my 4th lap i ran a 2:02.6.

I beated the 3 challenges with a ds3.
Fiat kinda easy
The lotus a bit harder, but by far the most enjoyable race on the game, so much fun
And after like an hour and a half or two hours of restarts i beated the sti event

Is all in learning to drive with each car.
Maybe you should do first the sti race and after that the lotus one.

Won a crappy nascar, a crappy fairlady lm and an expensive 908.
