To all DS3 users out there...

It's not really fair to pick Steve up on one sentence from his post. Context people. He was merely stating he achieved Gold using a DS3 and that he didn't find it particularly difficult.

To me that suggests that Golding these events using a DS3 is relatively easy and I agree. As I have suggested elsewhere, your choice of controller is not what makes these challenges more difficult than your average ones. It's the tyres. I doubt anybody here regularly chooses to race on anything other than slicks. Maybe Sport Softs.

Wheel Vs DS3 is immaterial...

Confirmed 99% 👍 Except for the S.Vettel Challenges, there you have a big + if you are a wheel owner. :sly:

What and where are the S.Vettel Challenges? I've heard people mention them before and would like to check them out.
Thanks.

I am currently level 34 A-Spec (only because I can't sit around to finish the endurance races, only done 2) and use a DS3, play online against a bunch of level 40 guys who all use wheels, and compare quite favourably, usually giving them a hard time, but so far on these I have golded the Fiat and Elise within a couple of goes, but can only get 2nd on the WRX (so far...)

Special Events Bill. Scroll all the way to the right. Rock hard though. I can't touch them. :)

DONE!! 7:56.710 total time, beat 2nd by 4.095s ;)

used Rotary Junkie's setup but used stage 3 turbo (power adjusted to suit on engine) and shortened the gear ratios to suit the high-rev power, set to top speed of 137 as you never get higher than that down the back straight anyway, so get to use all the acceleration.

I have to say though, if I bought a real-world Impreza and it slid around that much, it would be going straight back!!!

:lol::cheers:

same, defo one for the wheel. Don't you have to reach level 25 or something around that to unlock them?

I'm a high enough level so I'll give them a shot tonight! What are the rules and regulations?

The S.Vettel challenge is available under Special Events. But you need to be lvl 30 to unlock it. :sly:

They don't HAVE to race them then. This is only 3 races in the entire game (at the moment) if they want the tickets that bad, just get them through trades. PD must cater for everybodies tastes and there are a lot of people very happy with these new events, including myself... I think (hope) they realise this! 👍

The only thing that kinda bugs me is that these events just don't seem possible to beat using X and square and directional buttons. Like with most events, you can make them anywhere from extremely difficult to very easy, but in the end 1st is almost always achievable for all types of players. I know I should switch my controller layout for practicality, but I'm comfortable with my setup--it's what I've used since GT1 (old habits die hard). Either way, I'm fine with placing 2nd-5thish for these, really shouldn't be complaining with all the great updates and other events... guess this is my "rant" haha.

I think the X and the other buttons don't have a sensitive level 0-100%. You really should switch your stearing, braking & accelator buttons to the 2 analog sticks. :sly:

Smoothness & precission is required for the hard battles. 👍

I can't do that lotus event with the racing wheel, Logitech Pro Force,
No asm=spinning in corners
Asm on=losing time because of being to slow
PD should use more cars and longer in these events, I'm rooting for a no-limit Nordstrief LP670-4 SV event

Use ABS: 1, TCS: 4, all other aids: Off. Brake late (the car is very light), hold as much speed as you can in corners (you wouldn't believe how fast you can actually be with the Elise in corners) & be very smooth with the accelator when you coming out of the corners (every wheel spin and you are loosing a lot of time). Practice & you should get it. :sly:👍

And a good tune is a must. You can find some here in the thread & more in the GTP tuning section.

Thank you, I have already tuned the Lotus to the tuning guide to that event, I'll try it soon.

I am the same as you buddy, I use X and Square but have managed to gold all 3 so stick at it! 👍

Did the new seasonals with ds3 too. I put the sensitivity to +3 and it was ok with circle and square.

I actually do a little better with the ds3 than my dfgt. However i leveled to 40 with the ds3 so obviously im quite comfortable with it. But as much as i love using a wheel, i cant help but admit that I often turn better laps with the ds3 depending on the car. Its faster (lock to lock) and calculates steering angle for you (at max stick angle) which provided your fingers are steady enough, will always be faster than using your hands and feet with a wheel. Its the classic wheel vs controller debate though. To each thier own.

My only point is that if you dont have a wheel, fear not. I actually find these expert seasonals more challenging with a wheel. ;)

To make my point, I have been trying to gold the Elise challenge for two weeks now with the wheel. I had been running mid 3's for lap times (first lap being an upper 4) and just couldn't catch up. Finally gave up on the wheel today and after 4 or 5 tries, golded it w/ the DS3. And as expected, my lap times were down to almost 1'03 flat, with an occasional 1'02.8 or .9 in there. Caught up to the lead by out-braking him into the last hairpin before the back straight. Then took it VERY easy to the finish. :dopey:

Golded this ones a LONG TIME AGO..........

Just place Sensitivity in 7. Will turn the car as good as a wheel. Save your money.

I got the first two pretty easy a lot of trial and error, but got them done, that said I can't for the life of me to get the STi to turn into Andretti and the corkscrew, been changing toe and camber, ride height etc. I'm there 1.xxx behind, any help?

DS3 triggers and stick
Thanks
