I fully understand it may pain some of you (to an irrational extent even) to see negatives brought to the forefront of a game like GT5, which has a LOT of positives.
And whiners can be annoying... we all have experienced that one way or another in our lives.
But I would like to point out that unless you white knight for every game like this, you are not complaining about the whining, you are complaining about people not being nice about GT5... and if that's your cause... then that's (and I know it's a dirty word) "fanboying" and is about the equal but opposite to whining and trolling... you are basically doing exactly what you want to stop just replacing one point of view for another.
I would like to remind you that the GT fanbase (and those who reside mostly at GTP are no exception) has riddled the competition heavily over the years with all kinds of nitpicks fromm an unfair and untouchable position of vaporware that has the benefit of invicibility in that it can't be inspected back... whether it be videos where cars are forced to roll around in unnatural ways, zooms of low LoD cars in the distance to try and claim bad modeling, berrating choices to outsource modeling or just graphical glitches in general, there has been no shortage of them and no shortage of people happy to see them around here.
Unfortunately now the table has turned and GT5 is no longer vaperware that can be perfect as anyone wants in their imagination and used as an impeccable bar by which to compare the competition.
Now we have the truths coming out and some of them are unpleasant and to some will be more an issue than to others.
GT5 has had it's weird rollover video, it's ugly low LoD photo, it's ugly rendering glitches/choices and even shown that PD's previous in house only modeling exists at different levels of "perfection".
What I am saying is, if you weren't out there adamently defending other games that "didn't make your eyes bleed", or had problems you "wouldn't really noticed while racing" also, your demands for whiners to go away is kind of biggoted. And I have been around a long time and while I constantly see "The PS3 is 5 year old hardware, what do you expect, you won't even notice it while racing" I don't recall many instances of "The 360 is SIX year old hardware and has done a great job with what it has to work with."
So, please, I understand it's unpleasant to hear, but unless someone is fabricating a negative completely (in which case it really is whining), take it like it was dealt out and don't whine about the whiners
