Hi all! I'm a 32 year old GT owner that likes to drive my cars unmodified to enjoy the small differences, the sound and the flaws of every car. Thanks to PD lack of filters online i find almost impossible to setup a race without getting invaded by small kids in pink GT-Rs.

I'm sure there's lots of people like me here than only want to drive their cars without paying attetion to camber, etc... So i think it could be a good to post here our PSN id to get some friendly casual racing going, and maybe some events.

I to love racing cars that are totally stock, including the tyres most importantly! There is an exellent thread here on GT Planet where some guy has found a way of working out which type of tyre should go on what car, to get it as close as possible to the cars real life level of grip.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4644189&posted=1#post4643437

I used to run a weekly race event on GT Drivers called Saturday Stock Car Series, I've ran it once in GT5 but not enough people turned up & stayed. If there was a few more guys like us who wanted to race stock cars with the appropriate tyres to get realistic levels of grip, I'd be up for organising a few more events, I have many ideas.

Yeah tires are basic to have a decent simulation. Added your PSN to first post, looking forward to those events, hope some more people join

Use the term "OEM" instead of "stock", as nascar is very popular online I'm sure it causes confusion!

I love driving cars in factory form. I feels alot more realistic. I was in a room the other day where the host set it up so everyone had to use a stock HKS Lancer and it was very competitive.

interested.. depends on the time(zone) of events.

I'm GMT-3:30, Newfoundland (Canada) Time Zone

I'm from London UK & Dragunov is from Madrid, so it probably wouldn't suit you US & Canadian guys cos of the time difference.

👍

True, but i play at weird hours sometimes so i dont have problems playing with Americans. I'll add everyone on monday, im open to any event ideas

I agree. Just last night I was neck and neck for like thirty laps because we had very similar cars. Then I had to use an untuned Ferrari and got crushed because the other guy is a much better tuner than me it was really disappointing. I'm in for this league/group.

I play with many people from Japan, Australia, U.K., Netherlands, Brazil and many other countries... the main thing is what day the race is on, if it's late at night during the week I might not make, it but if it's on the weekend, not a prob...

I'm 3.5 hours behind GMT, but 4.5 hours ahead of British Columbia on the other side of Canada, I have more problems getting online the same time as people from my own country, than I do with people from the UK or Australia! lol
If I can't make the schedule than I'll withdraw from the event(s).

cheers,

This sounds very interesting indeed, count me in.
I'll look out for you guys next time I'm playing.

My PSN id is alhajoth.

I'm Norwegian by the way.

I only race online between 7pm & 12am (weekdays & weekends), if I did run any stock car events they'd only fall between those hours I'm afraid.

I am interested, assuming Sports Soft is the tire limit. I will keep an eye on this thread in the next few days.

(I am very new to online racing, but have been playing since GT1.)

Updated the first post with everyone, i'll be hosting some casual races today

Sport softs is the limit, i suggest everyone to have some of that in their most powerful cars, sports hard are enough to most cars

YES!
Count me in!
I hate that everyone drives with slicks all the time. I wanna do some stock cars racing on nurburgring :)
<--- my PSN :)

Remember to post your PSN id's, so we can find eachother..

I'd like to see a room where everybody drives the same car.
I just raced a stock Lancer Evo X against one of those Red Bull X1 jokecars, that sure was a lot of fun...:yuck:

I really hope this takes off. I honestly wanted to organize something like this but the majority are into just overpowered cars that 95% of the GT5 popluation will never drive in their entire life.

My PSN is iJDM808. I hope that we can organize maybe 2 races a month. Here in Japan, a popular 'review' show (not like that of Top Gear) is Best Motoring, where reviewers (usually race drivers) take stock cars out and have 'stock' car battles to determine the better car.

---Edit---
Also, I'm in Japan so my time is GMT +9. Again, sorry if my English isn't very good.

Hi All,

My PSN ID is : mcleeve

I'm up for this. I prefer to drive cars stock. When I say stock I mean stock with just a basic oil change as that seems to give a more true real life BHP figure in my view.

As the orginal post said, with no GT5 filter for stock cars, you end up racing users with modified cars who are poor drivers but are quicker than you due to the extra power and light weight.

I have about 80+ stock cars now in my garage, all ready to use online. Me and my brother have been compiling a list of times using stock cars (with an oil change), around one particular track - Top Gear, using 'Sport Hard' tyres. We started using the 'comfort soft' tyres (as we first thought they were the closest to real life tyres on the road) but times were just a little too slow compared to what we knew the cars in stock form were capable of doing on Top Gear track, so we changed the test to all cars running Sports hard. We tested all cars with just 3 flying rolling laps (not a standing start, and we got the compaison times from fastestlaps.com which are all rolling times). When we host now and limit cars to power, BHP and especially the Sports Hard tyres, it's amazing how many users don't like the settings and request us to amend the tyres. It makes me laugh as we see them struggling.

See you all on the track.

Nice to meet you all. I'm new to the forum, have been reading up on it alot. Loving GT5, but frustrated with the online options. Sick of racing my stock cars against F1s etc!

This kind of racing is perfect for me. I don't have many friends online who play GT5 so add me, or ill add some from this thread later today.

Look forward to some good racing!

Add me to this, I've been buying loads of basic cars that I like from the UCD, but never get the chance to race them fairly. Everyone's on racing soft, tuned to the max. I'm happy with just an oil change.

tuning as in just upgrading I dont like.

tuning as in setup-ing the car is cool cause it requires skill. but only on racing cars.

PSN below.

If you really wanna know what car should be on what tyres (so that's as close to the real thing as possible), check this thread out!
