I have been running channels like this as well. I run with full damage, no aids and sports hard limit. I stress clean racing. I don't get much interest, I have one or two guys come in regular, and we have had some epic races, interesting to learn what some cars do better than others. Please add me as well.

Getting enough players who genuinly will race clean is a real challenge, and the problem is if you get only one driver who doesn't care, the full damage will ruin the race.
I was in a room yesterday with full damage and road cars. The creator of the room had all the right ideas, but of 7 drivers, it appeared only 2 of us actually wanted a clean race.
My car was crippled just after T1 when a car went off road, then went right back on the road without bothering to look and rammed me.
Then, exiting Bergwerk, I encountered a BMW going the wrong way trying to ram me head on.
Having Full damage doesn't work online in my experience..

I played with you sometimes, great racing. Sadly i cant play at your timezone that much anymore.

Updated the thread with everyone new

Was it NASCAR? It was wasnt it? I think I remember now. I'm probably the dirtiest NASCAR driver, but most people give as good as they get.

In my experience it does work, you just need the right drivers. Me & my friends have done many 7 to 12 lap races on longer circuits with many over taking moves each lap & barely swapped paint, sometimes we even make no contact at all. Heading into the bus stop on Daytona Road 3 abreast with no incident is & getting it sorted for the entry is something I've enjoyed with certain good drivers I know. There are many clean, competent & competitive racers out there, I'm hoping that our stock car race on Saturday night will reveal some more to me from among you guys.

I agree with you that full mech damage doesn't work in the Open Lobby, there are just too many dirty or plain incompetent drivers about. I just race in My Lounge with friends on my list & have had no real problems so far, sticking to the damage/wait/pit rules that I tetxed you guys also encourages no contact racing, if you drive it like you actually paid tens of thousands for it out of your own pocket you'll never crash into another car!

👍

PS: If you are planning on coming racing Saturday night, please make sure you have read, understood & agree to abide by the Race Rules & other info I've sent you. Failiure to do so will result in you not being invited to any future events that I run, it may sound harsh but it's the only way to ultimately ensure a full grid of clean racers for those of us who enjoy that kind of racing.

Sounds like fun. Got plenty of stock cars in my garage but hardly use them as online u usualy take something tuned.
If there is place I like to have a go at joining u guys Saterday.

You can use the unmodded cars on the recommended list and make eveyone use them too. You take it off unrestricted and then choose the cars from the garage. The only thing you can do to the car is change the tires.

Yes you can use cars from the recommended List, but the problem with that is that you don't have that much of a choice, and each car differs in terms of performance. I'd like to use my stock cars from my own garage. The limits for the lobby should be tyres (sports hard), BHP and weight.

Looking forward to some clean, good racing.

Sorry, I just checked this thread. Is the Saturday event is on which Saturday? Right now, it's Saturday for me but 9:30PM. It's Saturday for America, but in the morning (I'm ahead) so I'd like to join but I'm not sure if I am in time or not.

We will be usung a Recommended Car for the night, to keep things simple & to give me a chance to see how clean & competent you guys are at driving.

👍

PS: The time in the UK is 12:33pm at the time of posting this.

Dragunov posted this thread, but because he is busy & I already have been running stock car events since 2008 in GT5 Prolugue, I decided to invite a few of you guys along to the ones I'm now running in GT5, hopefully your clean driving will be on a par with my current friends.

For the record, tonight the car will be chosen from the Recommended list so you will not need to bring your own, we will use the same car all night & change track every hour. Please read all the info in the PSN texts I've sent you so that you understand exactly what is required, thanks.

:)

I'm interested in this too, and will hopefully be on tonight. Can you add me to the list? cheers.

Me and my brother (mcleeve on your list) tend to always use standard cars on sports hard tyres too.

Ahh I see. I understand. It'd be about 5AM where I am when you guys start racing. Hope there's a good turnout and hopefully I can join in the future.

Sorry mate, I only just got saw your post, I'll add you today for next weeks race. Your brother drove very well & me & my friends were impressed by the standard of gentlemanly racing generally last night.

By the way, last night we raced for 4 hours with damage set to heavy, no aids or silly boost/penalties & done 10 mins qually + 2x 20 minute races per hour & there was no incidents of people damaging each others cars. Well done to everyone who took part, I had a great time & you all done yourself proud with the general level of fairness & sportsmanship, bravo!

I host the race in My Lounge, not in an Open Lobby, you'll need to be on my friends list to enter via the coffee cup My Lounge icon & access the race.

👍
