To Jordan: Is GTPlanet acting up?

Why does it say 90% on the bottom right? Maybe that's the problem.

CNG - You can't just post a picture and expect us to immediately know what you mean. You did roughly the same thing with the camera on the side of the airbox of the F090/s/MP4-5. Give us more information. Describe your problem. Don't just post a picture and a smiley.

We are mind readers but we can't read what goes on in your mind.

That 90% has nothing to do with it, because that right there is the zoom percentage. It happened again just now, and it said 100%. Things still looked funny, smileys looked pixelated and other stuff, but I forgot to take screeny. :ouch: It might happen again, maybe it's just my retarded dell or something. :guilty:

It's your browser not rendering the page properly. Refresh will fix it.

The highlighted bit looks like a search tool, highlighting the word in red with a yellow background - but you'll note that the yellow background been shunted as far as the Quote text, just in the other direction.

Do a spyware check as well as your antivirus check (and ensure you have the most recent definitions). GTP doesn't "X out" - your browser "X's out" (sic) of GTP. There's the world of difference between the two - and I suspect it's a very local problem.

100%

Everything is hunky dory

Now, lets try it at 90%

Problems exactly as you've described.

I just tried the 90% and my screen looked just like the ones you had daan. (writing in wrong blocks)

Looking at CNG's screencap I was immediately able to discern the problem:

And here's the solution:

By the way daan, in those two shots your tool is showing...

...I mean tools. Er, moderator tools. Your moderator tools are showing. :ouch:

Scanned the 3rd time this past 2 weeks, and no problemo what-so-ever. 👍 I wonder why my old gateway is faster than my new dell. Maybe it's another hidden virus I have to manually find myself, since my brother continues downloading inappropiate content. *:grumpy:*

Ohh cool, show us more moderating tools. 💡
How did you manage to get it at 90% anyway? :odd:
I... Don't... Know... It just pops up as 90% whenever it wants.

He must be so close to clicking the ban CNG button... :scared:

Are those two different accounts? :odd: Same name, same age, same birthday. How did this happen?

One has a signature, one doesn't, one logged in last in '02, the other '05, the profile details are subtly different, etc. So they seem like two different accounts.

What I'm wondering is how both accounts have the same name.

I keep getting the following message about three times a day.

"Sorry, the GTP forums are currently unavailable".

It would seem you have a dynamic IP, and it's dynamicised itself into a banned account.

I've seen that happen with other people and that's usually the cause.

Cool. I'll have a quick search see if I can find anything about it.

Edit Just found this, Jordan recommended clearing cookies. I'll give that a go.

Yep, Diego is correct. It looks like you're hitting the ban when you're stuck with a 195.244.128.* IP address.

What's the best thing to do? It works intermittently throughout the day. It's fine at home but when I'm at work (like today) I get the occasional message. It's not a major problem but something I obviously want to get sorted out.

Should I try resetting the router at work? Would that help? I don't know much about I.P addresses.

I'd say that's your best option, although the answer I've seen when that happens is that you must somehow find the way for your dynamic IP not to dynamicise itself into that IP.

Your best bet is to ask a mod, IMO.

I'll wait for Jordan to swing by this thread again. He'll sort me out.

Well, there's not much we can do about that issue. We have certain IP ranges banned due to continual problem users or, more usually, frequent spammers. We can't unban those ranges, though we do try to be as specific as possible in IP ranges, just to avoid conflicts like this. However, we can't limit the range of available IPs that your work machine can be assigned. Someone in your location would have to do that.

I think the people in tech support reset the router every week so there is a chance the problem will go away. If not, is there an IP range that I can supply to them so that they can put a limit in place? Is it that simple and would you be able to supply the IP range Duke?

Unfortunately, I can't supply that information for two reasons: 1) it's a very long list, and 2) if I did, everybody on it would potentially be able to get around their IP bans.

However, Jordan did publish an IP address up there that is giving you trouble. So you could give that to them and ask if they can keep the dynamically assigned IPs out of that subnet range.

Of course, then you'd have to answer their first question: why? ;)

The tech support guys are on forums more than me! Plus I have the necessary authority.

Hey, Mark, check your PM's. I'll try to get this worked out for you...

I have no idea how to add a table like thing on GTP. I don't have Microsoft Word, and I can't install it. :indiff:

Something like this below
..________ ________ ________
|________|________|________|
|________|________|________|
|________|________|________|

And you can insert info in each of those boxes. Anyone knows if you can do that here? I am really desperate. :(

I don't think you can. I have a feeling it wasn't implimented because it can screw with the width of posts or something.

Correct. We had tags for tables years (years) ago, but because posts are created using tables, it was too easy to completely screw with a thread’s layout.

If you want to show tabular data, use the [ code ] tag, which sets the text in a monospace font and won’t eat up multiple spaces.
