 It's all relative man. Today it's a beast, tomorrow it's a paper weight! Enjoy it while it lasts I guess. :D

There's quite alot of people who would have your PC setup - any day of the week. Me included! :dopey:

 Remember these?

They are sitting on my desk right now..... Paper weights! :D

That 144 fps with Crysis 3 makes me want to cry. :( I barely get 30 with my single 7970 @ 2560x1440, or ~40 @ 1920x1080 (which I presume your screenshots are running at)

Yes, 1920x1080@144hz.

Personal observation: Here's the interesting thing. Now that I have been gaming @144hz, even at a lower resolution of 1080p vs. 1440p, I find the over all experience more enjoyable and pleasing to the eye. @60hz, hands down, 1440p is the way to go if your system can handle the resolutions, but at the higher refresh rates, everything is so much more fluid and milky and just looks better, even at a lower resolution.

That's what I'm aiming for. I guess I need two cards though :D

Have you had any issues with micro stuttering while running SLI? I've heard it's down to individual perception and doesn't effect some people.

I had micro stuttering with my two 590's in certain games. Battlefield 3 was horrible for this. Keep in mind, however, that two 590's is quad-SLI. I have not had any issues with these two 780's other than a few random crashes to desktop when playing BF3. This can be solved with an older driver, but honestly, I just run BF3 with a single 780 and keep my drivers up to date. I am curious how this will change with BF4 and how much different the new Frostbyte engine will be and how good the Nvidia driver support will be for this ATI Flagship game.

In regards to micro-stuttering, turning off hyper threading has fixed most of the issues out there for most people that experience micro-stuttering in SLI. This, however, did not help my quad-SLI setup.

As far as personal prescription? Trust me when I say I would notice an graphical anomalies. I am very particular and very judgmental of my display quality, responsiveness, and color accuracy. I've heard people say (and I am guilty of it myself) that 60FPS is the holy grail of gaming. Anything more is a waste of power and serves no measurable difference. While that is true on a 60hz monitor, that is not the case when your effective refresh rate is greater than 60hz. It's a huge difference to me, so much so, that I will never go back to 60hz gaming. I am ruined for life! It's like turning on a mono-band radio station and trying to listen to music. You can do it, but why would you? :D

I'm seriously thinking about SLI 780s for my future build. I've read a lot about the benefits of 144hz and this this is the reason I picked a 144hz monitor.

Well, some things to consider....

1.) x1 780 will produce a good amount of heat, right into your case as the exhaust is along the edge of the PCB on most of the reference cards I've looked at, not out the back so make plans for good air distribution. X2 780's and you better make sure you have really good air flow in the case. I remember your drawing of the case, but just be aware of the heat.

2.) Secondly, make sure you have enough power.

Other than that, you can always start with one card but be prepared for SLI should you feel the need to drop a second one it.

A really nice benefit to water cooling is you can have all the heat disbursed outside of the case so internal air flow really becomes less of a concern.
