1'21.407 for me on a one off lap.

Otherwise it was 21.9s and low 22s.

And yes it's a pig to drive. On twistier courses it'll be annihilated. And it isn't particularly fast in a straight line either.

Ah at last someone agrees with Matty and myself, and if it was pink the back end of the Volvo would look like a pigs arse too.

:lol: I'm surprised, last season the Volvo was one of the fastest in a straightline..

I did a 1:22.009 on tuesday otherwise its usually 22.2 -22.5

Someone said it was fast.........someone was lying.
 
LSD, ABS, and aero must make a difference... it was top FWD last season with 6 wins IRC...

Yes, they do. I drive the Sirocco earlier as well.

Around HSR I was hitting (limiting at 160 before first turn). Volvo only got to 152.

Around CPS Sirocco can also take turns much better. I hit a 1:21.6 in it. A second faster then the volvo.

I'm starting a petition, sign you name here if you think the VW Sirocco is too fast.

I did some hot laps and got a 20.6 for a fastest lap.
If I add up all my best sectors I should be at 20.0 or 19.9 if I get another great T2.

It can be fast, but you have to get the lap perfect. I did a 1'21.407 but couldn't match it again because the car is so easy to lock up and wheelspin in.

In fact I got used to the brakes, but trying to stop the front wheels going up in a cloud of smoke is rather hard. :nervous:

It's an odd car to drive. You have to be delicate and light on the pedals but forceful with the weight change and steering. Oh I found rally style braking really helped get the car through the faster corners. 👍
 
just did another few laps. did a 1:19.84. only joking, im b-spec grinding . had ya scared didnt i ;)

HSR was very fun. overtaking round the outside FTW
 
The VW is easy to brake with 3/1 or 2/0, also when I tested it I was constantly in the 20s with my best, a near perfect lap, in it was a 1:20.4.

Then I made more tweaks to my Mazda and got a 1:20.8 but I lost 3 tenths on another lap which ended as a 1:20.8 so theres maybe a little more to come from the Mazda.

Mick's inactivity leaves bottom of entries, whilst carracer's absence from the line up for R1 puts him down. Paul and ATIN now have guarenteed starting spots for Saturday at Cape Ring.

(ignore the reserve, Excel playing up with me). Top 16 are the Cape drivers this weekend.

I sent a interview to Furi earlier in the week and he got back to me so here it is.

Well Furi, as the founder of TOCA what made you decide against ABS, LSD and no aero?
A number of things. The cars look more like production counterparts now, and less aero means a trickier car to handle. Stock LSD's leave the drivetrains locked in and make suspension tuning the key, whilst no ABS makes them harder to drive. Also the loss of aero allows some cars who don't have aero parts available to be in the competition, such as the Mini.

How will you fare with those regulation changes?
No ABS has taken some getting used to with the VW, whilst the Aero and LSD definitly makes it trickier to drive.

Since your on Team FBR where do you and your teammate Tom think you will come?
Well I want to increase on my average of 1 win per season, but i'll have to raise my game with the depth of competition this season. Tom is blindingly quick and I won;t be surprised of he challenges for the title.

What do you think in the cars for this season, and are there any strong cars out there?
Honda are very quick and light, and the RWD Infiniti's may stand a strong chance as well.

Who will be your main rival this season?
I'd love to get one over on my old team mate Akmuq :sly:

What do you think of the tracks this season, any one in particular your waiting for?
Le Mans! Two longer races, a TOCA first, running into the night! And who knows what the weather may bring up...

Closing comments?
Get some tape, attach it to your door handle tight and tighten up the seatbelt. This is TOCA's revival, let it begin at Cape!

I wanted to get rid of Carbonox so that he wouldn't stop me from hitting other cars off the track.

I can't drive at all this way, but at least I have the best car.

First because I'll hit everyone off the way of Tom, then make him slow down and let me take the wins. I'M THE BOSS AROUND HERE.

VW is clearly the fastest, that's why I picked it. I made sure I would leave akmuq with a worse car to watch his desperate driving.

Whoever manages not to get taken out by me.

Le Mans because of all the sandtraps I can push other cars into.
