How should pre-qualifying be for TOCA7?

  • Keep the TOCA6 Quali Race format, it's fine.

  • Run a regular quali session instead for positions 13 downwards.

Yes but it would still drive better than Furi in any car :sly:.

So they both get together in wizard costumes and play WoW?

Edit: Checked his wall, I see now .

Aww they are cute so I am guessing this was the last picture you took before you abducted them?

So my army is ready. :D
I have trained them well.

Also when is next test? I may be able to attend that one, might not though.

I tested a little bit last night with some setups I found in the GTP tuning section. Used my current Mazda as a benchmark and only did a couple of laps each.

Motegi East times:
Mazda: 1:27,4
BMW: 1:28,0
Infiniti: 1:28,0
Mini: 1:29 something
Honda: 1:29 something (??)

I really can't figure out how the Honda can be on the pace at all. It doesn't even feel that slow when I drive it, although with the setup I used it understeers like hell on acceleration so I always have to wait forever to step on it. What's the big secret there? Did I miss buying some part...?

I'm starting to be afraid that I'll come to the conclusion that I'd be fastest in the Mazda. Then I'd have to use it another season, which I really wouldn't like to do. Not that I don't like it, but another season in it would be boring, I guess. (hoping for Scirocco or Audi to be fast in final specs)

Right Mini gets Stage 2 weight for a start. Calendar will be revealed for S7 TONIGHT. Might be a little contreversial...

SPEED TEST RESULTS:

For these speed tests, a few spec changes were carried out. I decided that the smaller cars (Suzuki and Mini both under 4000mm in length) that they are permitted to run under 1000kg.

MINI was equipped with Weight Reduction Stage 2.
SUZUKI was equipped with Weight Reduction Stage 2.
INFINITI was NOT equipped with Sports ECU.
VOLKSWAGEN was equipped with Sports ECU.
Audi was equipped with Weight Reduction Stage 1.

Test0-60.png

In 0-60 RWD and 4WD as expected dominant. Mazda and Mini also VERY strong out the blocks. VW lagging at the back, Suzuki much closer than when previously tested (was 5.4 with old spec)

Test0-100.png

Infiniti creeps ahead as FWD turbo's kick in, Mini and Mazda hold strong, Honda and Suzuki keep pace, VW seems asleep however.

TestSpeed.png

After a mile, things are on their head. Infiniti and Audi are close at the top, Honda and Mazda hot on their heels. VW's caught up, BMW's lack of high end torque has hurt it, and Suzuki has kept pace as the Mini dropped back.

Test2.png

At the finish line, the Honda and VW were fastest by 4mph over the Infiniti. Audi, Mazda, and the little Suzuki a shade below, BMW and Mini having run out of steam a little.

Here is a list of updated specs including changes made above, which ar featured in RED

You do know that with the latest specs, Mini still is above 1000kg, with 1016kg? Also, does the Suzuki keeps its carbon hood?

To close up, after updating the cars to the newest specs, the Mini is the only one who doesn't reach the 305hp mark with 297hp, after being broken in...

Yes I know about the Mini being 1016kg. 👍

Suzuki keeps carbon hood, and thats right about Mini HP.

Anyone else notice that Infiniti is in the top 3 at every chart while Suzuki and Mini weren't there even once?

Yeah. The changes I made to specs have evened the cars up.

Anyone got guesses about the calendar? Its still 8 weeks, but its got a few twists and turns in it...

I was more referring to the fact that those little ones had better be connected to the road like they were on rails, or no one will probably want them in the first place.

I was going to join your room to try and help with the testing, but its a 2 people room...

Well Sakery just got an exclusive first look at the S7 calendar ;) I will be revealing it around 6.30pm to 7pm GMT.

EDIT Stuff it. I'll reveal it in a few minutes.
