How should pre-qualifying be for TOCA7?

  • Keep the TOCA6 Quali Race format, it's fine.

  • Run a regular quali session instead for positions 13 downwards.

So are the cars actually even? I seeing lots of testing 'talk' but not a lot down on paper.....:p

Nel hold your moobs after I give the S6 cars a last run at GP/D tomorrow I'll get into some testing before the new year.

I'm glad to say Big Bertha made it out of hospital today. She's doing really well. She had a new disc put inside her and she's back to her full health. She was also discharged and she's recovering in my living room. Unfortunately, due to her underlying medical condition, she will not be taking GT5 discs in her but she'll happily take Madden NFL requests. She may be my big piano black girlfriend but she's off-limits for all naughty boys out there who don't want to put discs in her but other objects...
 
And here I thought your girlfriend was Miss Patrick :p.

Does the VW have to be 'run in'? Mines on 298 and im pretty sure ive done everything :p

Anyway just done some testing.
AUTUMN RING
VW - 1.20.553
BMW - 1.19.874

VW definately not too quick now :confused:. Slower 1 lap pace despite it feeling like the things on rails and my word its front tyre wear rate scares the living day lights out of me.

BMW feels AHHHHH-Mazing and its tyre wear is awesome.

So make of that what you will, folks. 👍
 
So, has the final decision been made on tyre type? I'd hate to do some in-depth testing over Christmas only to discover we're changing to RH's. Because some cars will just benefit more than others from tyre choice...

(In my opinion, we should stick with RH's anyway. Just saying.)
 
Looking like keeping mediums. All car specs near sorted although vw may get a small boost.
 
During the test last night I got a 1:19.4 in the BMW, a 1:19.6 in the Honda, and a 1:19.3 in the VW. All running the same tune which was used at Laguna.

Why don't we do hards main tyre type & mediums optional.
 
Actually it could add a bit of fun. You get so many medium tyres per season and you elect which races to use them whilst all other races you use hards.
 
BTCC have a rule next season where teams have to use a second faster tyre compound for one race next season, maybe we could replicate it here?
