This is an incredibly rude assumption. So now we're all trash because we have a bit of gaming time? Politely see yourself out the door.

Hi, I'm the OP of the thread about daily races turning to weekly races. Ya know, the one where everyone is whining?

I'm pretty ticked off by this change and I have a girlfriend, a job, I am a full time university student with a masters thesis in the field of Geological Sciences, I have a new kitten to care for, and I too have various other commitments to complete. I still usually complete a few races a day in the morning/evening and it bugs me the track roster is the same...

Sorry I dont have the most exciting life, but I do consider myself quite busy.

Not sure there is such a thing as a full time university student!

But that spare time is likely to disappear once you work/commute/cohabit/kids/have to travel to see friends/general adult stuff!

Oh the good old days :(

There is such a thing, and it typically translates to having school 3 days a week at absolute most. Which leaves plenty of time for at the very least, a 20 hour/week part time job.

I think it's funny that this user was called out for not having a 40hr/week job and then listed a bunch of reasons why he can't have a job ("muh kitten") ... then he relents and admits he has plenty of time for GT Sport. lol, ah, the youth of today...

I would like to see five weekly events to offer more variety. If that’s not possibly keep two weekly events and one rotating on a daily basis.

Increasingly I’ve found daily races pretty worthless as my friends where competing on different days and times. Very rarely did I see a full leaderboard to compare times with friends. A competition that lasts a week is much better in this regards. But as stated above there should still be at least one daily rotation.

Muh kittens takes my time indeed... When people get REAL responsibilities, such as living with their gf, having chidren, plus all the adulting that goes with it.. They sure wouldn't be playing GTS for 40 hours a week.. that's for damn sure.

Made that post to weed out millenial whiners that I don't want to see on GTP.

I am incredibly offended by this...

(What i'm talking about right there).

And it worked perfectly 👍

I've actually played more in the last few days than the weeks leading up to the update..

Swings and roundabouts.. can't please everyone in this world.

I think if anybody did play 40 hours of sport mode per week, i'd be wondering where their 40 hour work week was supposed to fit in there.

Unless they are unhireable/work shy lazy etc I guess.

Guess some people only want gaming as their "job". But that's a whole different story.

On the flip side of this;

I work three 12 hour shifts a week on Saturday Sunday and Monday, the other 4 days I spend with friends and working on my cars.

I also have crappy bandwidth so I can only play at night when my family isn’t using their phones or else it’s like the Wizard of Oz with all the cars flying around the track every time somebody in my house gets a text.

For me, to have the same races for a whole week is a blessing. I can put down a properly quick qualifying lap, and get used to the track with different car and strategy combinations to give me a fighting chance.

I envy those of you who are upset by this change. To me, it makes GTSports Sport mode WAY more enjoyable; BUT, I can definitely see how somebody who plays every day would get tired of the same race for a whole week.

I agree that somewhere from 48 hours to 4 days would work best, but that would be quite a wonky schedule thanks to pretty much the whole world adopting the prime number 7 day week.

Must be nice, when school starts up for me I have class 5 days a week, as well as obligations every night at my frat house.

I think the lesson here is that everybody’s schedule is unique and people who have similar work loads still end up with vastly different free time haha.

I hate whining threads but in this one Im with you OP, I think one week of the same three races is overkill. Why not every 3 days at least? When we had the dailies I used to skip some days mainly because I played race C almost exclusively. Now with this format I'll see myself skipping entire weeks when we have the inevitable Bathurst which I hate with a passion.
Well done PD ruining your own game not only a year after release.

Just did some races in suzuka to get my SR back to 99 for FIA races.

Mission accomplished.

No need to do it tomorrow again.

Ok, wait, I could try other GR.4 cars on suzuka to have a difference this way at least!

Argh, nooo, I forgott that its megane trophy- one make...

(thanks to great bop)

Edit: Literally never said I "played 40 hours". Not sure how a couple of races in the morning translates to that. Whatever, More people to ignore I guess.

I liked your part about the new kitten to care for. Lol

I think you cannot consider a decision ruins the game based on some posts here. Of course the more addicted players will be influenced a lot. But the database is bigger than that. So PD surely would want more of those less addicted players to play the game. The ones who are addicted already will just complain, but still play the game.

As much as I dont like PD’s actions in many ways, I am sure this is one of those reasons. To me the biggest problem is not communicating with the community. I hate that the most.

I would not consider myself to be addicted to this game. For the last 2 months I typically did 1 daily race per day and it was always race C unless I did not care for the track or car. Now I have done ZERO sport mode races this week, if I dont like next weeks C race I will be doing ZERO sport mode races next week. The reason I only raced once per day was due to available time because I would spend 30-60 minutes qualifying, I dont want to start the race in the rear and finish in the rear. Even when a track shows up that I like I dont see myself competing the same race all week long. I think in the long run PD will find this to be a huge mistake, especially in todays "instant gratification" type of lifestyles, nobody has to wait for anything anymore, people think a 3 minute wait in a drive thru to get a meal was a waste of their time.

That doesn't seem to make sense to me. You only typically did one race under the daily race system because you didn't have enough time to do proper qualifying and multiple races?

And yet, you are objecting to being given the opportunity to race more than once.

According to Kudos the fall down of participiants started in the beginning of the year and got stable month ago, so I don't think that was the reason. Because they would've react much earlier if they were thinking that change would help.

My guess is it has something to do with costs somehow, I can't imagine an other reasonable reason for that radical change after 8 month.

To me the biggest problem is not communicating with the community. I hate that the most.

That, I absolutely agree

I did win it with lancer today, sure there were mustangs and meganes there.. And I'm not that good of a driver. This meta car stuff, personally, just an excuse..

Just about every review of July patch has slammed the dailies turning into weeklys.
Does publisher care? Nope.
Will they change it back? Nope.

As an excuse, they will always use those few that actually like it as it is now, and say "But that's what our players want", just like they introduced microtransactions after cries of few on twitter.

I've missed about four days playing since I bought the game. All were involuntary. Today I just didn't care. The daily races were the reason I logged in. I loved the prospect of fresh, new combinations of track and car. I now have 1/7th the reasons to play the game so that's about all I'm going to play. That makes me very sad. GTSport, despite its minor frustrations, has been an enjoyable daily experience and now that's gone.

Sark
Dude... good thing they become weekly... do something real in your life ffs...

I like the new weeklies, MTs seem fair. I like the July update. Why, the hell, PD wouldn't listen to the other players as well? They payed the game too, you know.

PD did a good job with the last June changes on the rating system and now with the Tyre model in 1.23 update specially with the "N" cars..

But with changing the "dailys" to "weeklys" maked the game boring for me now..

He still doesn't give the mode that gives the game his name the variety it needs..

Why not just make 3 dailys , 3 weekly and 3 monthly extra long races for example...

Game shelved until 8th August when FIA events starts.

Time to play a bit Assetto & PC2 :D

Oh I'm not saying they shouldn't, what I'm saying is that they shouldn't listen ONLY to them, like they did now.

Why not both weekly AND daily?

I don't need 3 different tracks every day, 1-2 is fine, I only have time for 1 anyway.

Why use the the excuse that players want only 3 races weekly so that they in turn could give less attention to the sport aspect of the GT Sport..

Come back in a month or two and let us know if you still like racing same tracks whole week (that is if you do race more than once a week).

pity that obviously the A/A+ drivers do not know what you know, because in the strong lobbies almost exclusively the megane is driven.

It was not en excuse, its a fact that Megane trophy is overperforming, just like the Ford in GR.3

If you were referring to my reply the answer is that it makes all the sense in the world. I reread my reply and for the life of me I just cannot see were i was objecting to racing 1 race per day. The comment that I replied to (you can tell who I was replying to by my use of the quote function so as not to cause any confusion) had suggested that maybe this was PD's attempt to draw in more casual players. I am more on the casual side and I am playing much, much less. Why run the same track everytime you play for a week, don't you think that will get old pretty quick? GTS players were complaining about lack of tracks, now they have to race at the same tracks all week. Im sure everyone has favorite car/track combos, its likely that their favorite will show up one time every 4-5 months now, how is that a step in the right direction?? If I dont care for the car/track combo I skipped racing in sport mode for that day, now I will be skipping sport mode for weeks at a time instead of days at a time. Maybe if they made every race longer like race C it would a step in the right direction, but that is for me personally. I don't like the 4 lap races because they are nothing but a crashfest, everyone thinks they must be leading exiting T1 L1, then you have less then 4 laps to make up positions after you got spun by the car behind.

Was not aware of this. Looks like bad drivers have more fun then.:dopey:
