Hi everyone,
I wanted to share some major frustration regarding the current state of the Tokyo Expressway 600 PP event following the 1.71 update released on August 20, 2026.
Since the new physics and performance point adjustments dropped, high-end tuned cars and engine-swapped builds completely break this event. A major part of the issue is that the fuel consumption was changed to 1x, allowing even thirsty V8 engines to cruise through the entire race without a single pit stop.
With serious power, you can easily pull a 1-minute and 53-second lead over the AI within 12 laps. You can win the race effortlessly by almost two minutes without needing to stop at all.
The AI opponents simply cannot keep up anymore. Back in the day, races like this required strict tire and fuel management, precise strategy, and driving on the absolute limit with 2:12 lap times just to secure a win. Now, you can cruise through at a much slower pace, and the event feels completely dead, unchallenging, and boring.
Polyphony really needs to re-evaluate the balancing for these high-profile credit grinding events. Right now, it feels less like a race and more like a Sunday drive past moving chicanes.
Anyone else experiencing this extreme lack of challenge after 1.71?
