WHEN IS IT COMING TO THE U.S.???
ok sorry..im just a little distraught....the japanese have had it for almost 2 months now....when do we get it? and whats worse, it's impossible to find any new info...i hate gameinfowire.com and gamestop.com because their "new updates" are from 2002!!! ARRRGGHH!!! ok, if any of u r as disgruntled as me or have any info feel free to post away......
 
ive written to egm to no avail and im going to interogate megaplay, a local game shop, tomorow. ive seen a few txr01 threads on gtplanet but i want to keep the game in everyones minds so all the latest info is here!! oh, thanx for the replies, im pretty new round these parts....

i hate not having anything new to contribute about my most beloved racing series, we need all the txr01 detectives to unite and search every no0k and cranny of the net to shine light down upon my, and you there reading this post, saddened heart.....go0dnight, im delirious............
 
and if ur wondering, the black car is a c4 vette, and it looks like they updated the porshe model or at least added new one (911 tt hopefully), and finally...it lo0ks like the pink vitz is gonna reign over wangan in 01 also =) (look in front of the porshe)....
 
just an update, read some where its out juky 24 japan, july 26 us, doubtful but..............well VERY doubtful............but ill let ya'll know
 
it came out in japan in may. and the us release date is july 24, from what i read. if you really want it, you can go find a import video game website and buy iy for quite an amout of $$.
 
i hope rx7 speaks the truth, ive lo0ked at countless (well maybe 4...) import videogame websites with no mention of my beloved txr01. assuming the july 24 us release date it correct, i find it weird that last sunday i stopped by a gamestop and didnt see txr01 on their coming so0n release date list (i even asked an employee to check on the computer). maybe this is because its not a HUGE title by industry standards?? oh yeah, any advice on where to go pick it up on the 24th of this month??
 
oh yeah, rx7 thanks a million for the bablefish webpage, i was sitting around waiting for go0gle to finally get a japanese translator =). and i now know that "genki" is roughly translated to "vigourous"!!!
 
I just called my local GameStop and they said that they have no information on it yet :(

Anyway, at the website (www.genki.co.jp) from the scren shots, it looks like they've added a rain effect!

I've played the first one, and I found it not being what I expected it to be. It's an extremely fake draving simulation. (Well compared to GT3.) I found the specs of the cars to be not very helpful either. I mean.. almost all of the little graphs on the top right for each car look the same. It would be a lot better if they bothered to get some licenses to. I extremely ticked off when I had to look up each car "code" online.

I doupt I will buy this version. But I'm sure my cousin will because he's a big fan of the first one. (He's how I got a hold of the first on in the first place.) I can probably just borrow his to try it out when he's done.
 
well everyone's entitled to their opinion, but im bored at work so i figured id respond( and i want the keep this thread alive =) )....

about the physics, yeah not to great but i like to think of tokyo xtreme racer as a "celebration of speed", and it does at least accomplish that (the fish eye effect after 200+ mph and the certain wing tips showing resistance of air at 230+...)

the chasis codes didnt bother me, when i was 15 and not really "into" cars yet, i knew a 3rd gen rx7 was an FD before i knew it what an FD was =)...

but alas, i have gripes to...like doesn't it seem the suspension settings dont really do that much?? at least show the car being lowered...well pretty much redo the physics engine for that matter...and add a better variety of cars(both of which i think are going to be accomplished with the next installment)...add more traffic (on both sides of the road this time)...and well HURRY UP AND COME TO THE U.S.!!!! sorry =)..... oh yeah, dont offer only chrome gold rims and not have any bronze alloy's!!!!!
