Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3: Good game?

My buddy is giving me a couple of PS2 games tomorrow. One of the games is Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, so what I want to know is, is it a good game?

Weird Physics, BUT Great game.

Good Car selection
Average engine sounds
Cool history Mode
And the best tuning/modification system back in the day.

I enjoyed that game, a lot.

Eh. If you're getting it for free you might as well play it. It is decent enough to be worth your time. It is just that Xtreme Racer Zero and Xtreme Racer Drift 2 are better.

Zero I find to mess with my eyes for some reason and Drift 2, while a very enjoyable game, isn't quite the same given it's all mountain pass racing.

TXR3 is an excellent game that, in many ways, laughs in the face of Forza and NFS in terms of customization. Pixel level skin editing? Yes please. Engine swaps? Ayup. Ability to kill AWD? Yep. Engine swaps? Yep (You have the choice of inline 4/6, V6/8, flat 4/6, and rotary into anything, both NA and turbocharged).

The physics are, admittedly, a bit odd, but that's because it is indeed more of an arcade racer... But one with extremely good modification and tuning. Kinda like NFSU2 but bettererer.

TXR03 is awesome! I believe in part 2 or 1 had a Wangan Documentary.

The series is pretty well done. Although the graphics aren't as good as GT or NFS games. Customization like said up above is pretty good considering I don't believe the game is really a sim racer. More of just an arcade racer like NFS Underground.

I'd say the career mode is better than GT5. Really fun games though for PS2

I agree with your statement. I like the game, cars handle completely different than in GT4, but this game is a lot more fun. Thanks for your opinions guys.
