I haven't even gone through Genre only. These are series specific to show you the large differences int he same games w/the same developers. If I even BEGIN to open it to genere's instead of series...the difference will be MUCH more.

Point is, you're wrong, PS2, even early on, was not simply "higher resolution PS1 games" in any way shape or forum, you do, however, display a bias very often..

The titles you picked however are with some of the very best developers that no doubt had a large hand in how to get the best out of the new hardware. Something I doubt genki has, as TVR&Ferrari_Fan they do seem to be budget developers. Perhaps though my statement was abit generalised but I didn't feel the need to express it as a long winded essay, but truth was at the time the PS2 was first released the general impression wasn't that good. Now I'm not saying that it was the PS2 neccesarily, but the launch games.

Perhaps I show a bias because due to large number of blatent Sony fanboys that slate anything that doesn't run on a Sony brand console and worship anything that does. Even you yourself are obviously more biased towards Sony then Microsoft, you just don't make it quite so verbal as many members do here. I bought a PS1 and PS2 before I bought my xbox and I always felt dissapointed by the PS2 but atleast I gave it a chance, as I did the Xbox. Niether the XB 360 or PS3 impress me greatly so far and if anything I'm biased towards the PC. I still value my PC far more than my PS2 and Xbox put together, even soley as a games platform.

I only fear there wont be much new to add other than onlineplay. No true gameplay additions other than 2 vs 1 racing in TXR3 since the first game.

I'd definately say you'll be able to expect a lot more. Besides, the Shutokou series was never a graphical revolution, nor a hot title outside Japan. However, in that screenshot, the background is quite amazing, however the car model looks better than the first new-gen Shutokou Battle (TXR) game on the Dreamcast.

Of course, some people deride anyone who favors Sony as a fanboy, no matter how moderate he or she is.

Not saying you do... ;)

Naturally ;)

I'd regard the people that only ever say positive things about PS games (And make up excuses about the bad things) and pick out the tinniest flaw in Xbox games etc... as fanboys. Then generalise that all Xbox games suck big time.

I'll just get back to playing Battlefield 2 on PC thanks :sly:

Dope.. I have been looking forward to the day when the TXR series had the looks to back up the gameplay. (TXR 3 did a really good job)

Hopefully the ****ty steering/cornering is fixed.

I think they need to look at the genki team that make the Kaido Battle series, the physics have got progressively better from the first to third game.

The TXR series is a fun arcade racer in my book, and I love its depth of modification, large car count (especially in the non-licensed TXR0 title), and oddball storyline.

This is all I'd like from Genki for TXR4 (which I'm assuming is what the 360 title will probably be called).

1 - No Jaggies : This is a killer for a game like TXR where jaggies are so easy to spot. Smooth contours and definite, unbroken object lines would be great in the game.

2 - No Slowdown : When there was a bunch of traffic or a particularly unique AI in TXR3, there was a tendency for the game to bog. Eliminating slowdown would be great.

3 - 100% Loaded City : I want the road completely realized in front of me. No load times, no impaired draw distance, just a complete city.

4 - Easier to Understand Wanderers : Seriously, Genki, I don't get the clues at all. Maybe it's just because I'm a stupid round-eyed American, but I don't really gather from the two sentences you provide that I have to stop, turn around, and drive with my left turn signal on for 4 miles while honking to get a guy to race me.

5 - Even Larger Highway System : I loved the course selection in TXR3. Give us more. I see tons of off-ramps and interchanges on the highway. Let's use 'em.

These improvements to the GAMEPLAY will more than make up for TXR4 not being a graphical powerhouse. It'll continue steady improvements in a solid arcade racing hit.

3 - 100% Loaded City : I want the road completely realized in front of me. No load times, no impaired draw distance, just a complete city.

Over 100 miles of roads loaded into the ram? Its possible but then they would be using the same textures over and and over and over again. Say the city has 400milion polygons, you think 200MB's of textures should cover that? Its better and smarter to stream the city....

...that way you can use a full city made of over 2bilion total polygons and use over 2GBs of textures to cover it and saving ram for other things like high qualty sound fully loaded music improving the detail by a whole lot.

There's no point in going next gen this early if its not a graphics power house.
