I was playing GT2 a few minutes ago and was exploring the Tommy Kaira Dealership. There's a few Skylines and the ZZ-S. But when I go to the special section, there are 2 cars, the ZZ-II and the ZZ-III. The ZZ-II look nothing like its now well known version, with a spoiler and even better looking, and the ZZ-III look like a Japanese Alfa Romeo. Any idea what happened to them?

They weren't ported in to any other GT game. The ZZ-III may have been in GT3 but I can't remember. Also about the ZZII, it seemed to be a completely different car, if you look it's even a FR car instead of 4WD. Might have been licensing issue but I doubt it since the ZZS and the ZZII are in the game.

There are many cars that were sadly left behind in older games..

Yes, I feel personally GT2 had the best cars in the game. I think they just need to have all the GT2 cars in GT5 :D oh, and of course the Nike 2022:sly: from GT4

I agree, hoped they used that version instead of the current ugly one. :yuck:

ZZ-III was only in GT2. There have been no new cars added from Tommykaira since GT2 (unless you count a redesigned ZZ-II (not confirmed that it is redesigned though)). There has been a loss of 75% of the cars in the game by Tommykaira from GT2 to GT3.

Yes, there were some awesome cars in GT2 that went no further in the series, I intend to fire up the ole PS1 and do some screenshots for some of our younger followers. Concept Cheese and Weigert Vector W8 anyone? Yes please!
Any way, Tomykaira ZZII was a protoype car only, it has a Skyline straight-six motor and is a real car, but a one-off. When GT2 was released, I don't think it actually existed, it was a drawing only, hence the differences. Would love the have the YK Skylines in GT5, maybe it will happen.

Yeah, I really missed the one from GT2. :(

The ZZII seems to be less of the beast it was in gt4 IIRC. It was also a lot more expensive, 1mil vs >500k this time around. I was hoping to get it to manuever the corners better, but can't seem to get it right, plus it stops slower than it should for its weight. For the 600-699PP level the furai crushes the ZZII, very disappointing.

i agree, gt2 really had the best cars, whenever a new GT releases, i instantly look for the old cars I used to drive. :3 But Im missing Mitsubishi Galant 4V

The ZZIII is in GT5... kinda.

Tommy kaira were taken over in 2001 by the Japanese parts retailer Autobacs and renamed "Autobacs Sportscar Laboratories" - ASL. The ZZIII was developed into the ASL Garaiya and this car is available in GT5 along with two racing GT300 versions.
