While im not the most active poster, i spend heaps of hours reading here, and have done so for a long time.

Recently the tone have been more or less aggrivated in lack of a better word. If its because of the waiting time, lack of news, or maybe newcommers with a different style, i can't really say. But i hope it will turn around again soon. There have been a lot of "owning the site" mentallity as well. Some people having a hard time accepting newcommers, and their slightly different opinions. Maybe its the E3 in the horizon thats mostly to blame for this overall.

I just guess most who people who use this forum have the same reason when all comes to all, getting GT news, and discussing GT /cars. It should be possible to do so in an orderly manner.

(Maybe its just me (somehow i hope it is) and this is no way intended as being policing or anything alike, just had to get it out of the system)

Yep, I'd agree with bold statement... The fact that you defended yourself at the end about it not wanting to sound like you are policing shows that you knew exactly how it will come across! Yes, I know I asked somebody to take an iPhone discussion to the correct forums - so I'm a hypocrite too! ;)

In all fairness, yes, you are right, the lack of news and frustration levels relating to the game as a whole are very high. We all have our breaking points, and GT5 has tested most of us that's for sure. When some positive news about its release and content arrives, I'm sure the forums will get right back on track.

Yeah, I stopped posting as all I have is negativity these days.

Meanwhile I found a better game to play...

You can't change people's mentallity much i'm afraid and being polite and respectful takes more effort than reacting on first impulse and just write what first comes up in your mind.
Don't mind people with totally different opinions, newcomers or oldtimers, but i do find it annoying some assume everybody should basically share the same viewpoint.
And the laziness some display by just posting a reaction or suggestion without reading or reading up on the topic being discussed.
Not meaning reading every previous post, but it would be helpful reading a few pages back first ( or the very first post ) before joining in.
And if someone makes a claim or posts a fact, first do some research ( if you're not sure ) on the web before doubting it or claiming it's not true ( myself included, i made that misstake yesterday :ouch:).
As for the general tone, i actually find it often amusing people get so wind up as long they're not shouting abuse at others, and if it all goes horribly wrong the mods step in.;)

Im not so naive i think anything can be changed, in all fairness i just wondered if i was the only one who's thinking things been "tweaked" a bit lately.

@Torero82, im quite aware of Duke-ill-rip-your-head-off-Nukem :D

Well i wasn't suggesting you're naive, just mentioning some things i had to get off my chest ( thanks for the opportunity ;)).
We're a bit in some sort of twilight zone whereby any new suggestions or wishes seem a bit pointless as the game is almost finished and the uncertainty of not having a fixed release date and the only news seems to come from an exclusive demo.
People are becoming a bit impatient and some seem to be a little on edge, i did notice that like you did.:)

I lurked 6 years ago and noticed the same thing happening when GT4 was delayed. Impatience and frustration are important factors.

Also, with so many new members, people don't know each other very well yet. For example, when a moderator makes a sarcastic comment, a new member may see it as an attack and get defensive and angry. We all need to relax

The tone of the forum reflects the amount of news we have.

If a new video were released today, and it contained a CCX and an MC12, we, as a whole, would into over-active, hyper A.D.H.D. posters.

But I quite like that! That's what we're looking for.

I've been reading here for a long time, it's a great source of news and updates for GT5.

I hardly ever post because whenever I do post the post either gets ripped to shreads by some illiterate teenager or people just say something like "you fail".

A perfect reply to a discussion should say something like " I disagree with your post because.......".

Anyway, I will just continue to read the news for now and stick pins in my eyes until this GT5 thingy gets released....

The value of input some people are giving, repeating and repeating the same thing is very low. Also making jokes out of frustration seems an important activity lately.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 you are making some people giving up on coming to the best threads and in the end we will miss it when there is real news.

Well luckly there is Jordan who will spot the real news and post it in the news section! 👍👍:D

Reasons for this "tone."

1. GT5 taking FOREVER to come out. Excessive push backs.

2. Lack of updates on new things in the game while we wait.

4. Countless posts here that are absolutely a waste of server space and brain power to read. i. e. "What other car, truck, boat, RV, spacecraft, etc do you want in GT5?" 20 bazillion "wish lists."

5. The amount of noobs that post the type of threads mentioned in #4 when there is already 50 of the same thread here.

6. The flood of posts that makes this place feel like it's 99.9% 10-15 year olds.

Not all 10-15 year olds are bad

My advise, think of the worst thing that could possibly happen to GT, and then stick with it. (Ex. No news or release date for the next 5 months).

In case of good news, you'll simply be delighted with joy to find out something good actually happened.

If the bad outcome does occur, well then you were right and all is back to normal in the world of GT and its tendencies of providing little to no news.

Thank goodness for mimaximax's videos! (but I don't expect him/her to continue with this great work....get it?;) )

In his defense, these kind unnecessary comments can be taken the wrong way by some...HEY!, I'm just sayin' ;)

Taking stuff like this seriously IS taking things the wrong way. lol. Geeze, you people are killing me.

Let's all post pointless but serious comments, with funny comebacks in a thread dedicated to the tone of the forum. May your tone be sensible, yet witty, funny but not offensive and if possible you may choose to follow the AUP, in which every post in this thread is probably close to violating since we're all talking about something unrelated to GT5, in a thread unrelated to GT5, if the GT5 section of the forum.

Oh, and the South Park reference was funny, and if you don't find it a little bit funny, well this probably isn't the best forum for you.

I wonder why theres a negative tone on the forum, Nothing seems to be happening with this game. Fans are being treated like mushrooms and there's nothing else to talk about on the forum besides "oh did you see that white Enzo on the news page? It looks cool" "yeah...yeah saw that"... "Oh! What else could we have in GT5? Space ships maybe!?" Because what else can we talk about? Really..? Can't talk about the dyno feature because we don't know if it has one, can't talk about the wind tunnel anymore because A) its been talked about and B) we don't know if it exists as a feature in the game, we can't talk about what cars are in the game because we only know a fraction of them and they've been talked about before anyway, we can't talk about tracks in the game because.. I wont even go there, we can't talk about weather effects because we don't know if it exists in the game yet or not, we can't.. look I could sit here all night going through things we could talk about or can't talk about but the point is this.. We have no information on the game to talk about on the forum and it's leading to boredem hence why people make countless and seemingly pointless threads.

So I'd blame the big boys for the way the forum is at the moment. Them being Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital.

Yes it is in the wrong forum, my apologies :nervous:
