I dl'd a few of them and used win.media 9 and the new DivX player, and most of them were upside down or were corrupted in some way.

I download most of them and all of them that i downloaded work. I got the codec from Kazaa i found the biggest file of codecs and downloaded that so i have probably all the codec i need to view any file Hope you find how to get around the corrupted files for your viewing.
