Ok, my car was running low on oil, Like real LOW. So When I was at work I, walked and bought a gallon of oil. I thought about pouring it during work while my car was cold so I could measure it but I would have to buy something so I woudnt spill all of it on my car and I was on a budge so I decided to wait til I got home.

Poured the whole gallon like a idiot and its like this now (Im sorry it woudnt let me focus on the dipstick)

Was going to ask will it do serious damage to my car or can I last two days til I can leak it out?

Just drain some of it through the oil plug. It will add additional stress and slow the motor down... I dont think it will do too much damage if its temporary.

Yes, too much oil can damage your engine.

Too much oil will cause the crank to splash the oil up into the cylinder where the rings wont be able to keep all of it out of the combustion chamber where it will burn causing all kinds of fun damage to the valves and rings. Like NissanskylineN1 said just drain some with the oil plug, its much easier than a rebuild.

Or you can drain it cuban style with a straw from the fill cap. Insert straw, place finger on open end, remove straw, remove finger to drain. Repetan x80.

What do you drive, by the way? If your car fills up with a gallon, then grab a 1qt can and drain oil into it until it fills up. Then, measure your oil and add accordingly (Not the same oil you just drained)

It has happen to me before and that's what I did.
