Today was the best day I have had in a long time! My dad has been looking for a Porsche 911 S4 Turbo for about 3 months. Today he found one he kinda liked. It was an '02 in a silvery blue with dark blue leather. The sales guy, whom was really nice to us, let us take it for a spin. So we had a 1/16 tank of gas and a 60K use car. Great. We got on an interstate on ramp. The 996 tensed up, it knew it was going to be unleashed. So he hits about 75 MPH, and I look over and see a ricer, we pull up next to him, i smile, and my dad kicks it down... to about 130 MPH. I was glad i peed before we left. So we're weavin' in and out of mini vans and go 25 miles in 5 minutes. Then we turn around, and by this time, my neck is planted in the seat, so I'm very content. We get back to the dealer, and I'm sweating my tuccus off, and I have to pee again. So we talk to the sales guy for about 35 minutes, and take off in the Jeep, which will barely hit 75 MPH, and on the way home, we see a guy in a new M3 spun out on the on ramp the 996 got all excited. We head back to my dads, hop in his 2003 XJ8, and head to the mall. So he takes the twisty back road there, and its a little wet out. He jabs it into sport mode, and turns the traction control off. Put it this way, Sideways is fun!

Wow that seems like unsafe and reckless driving to me.

well, he is an idiot, and cheap, and moronic, and just plain self centered. but the point of the story is i had a fun day.

I honestly have no idea what to make of this thread. I guess I hope your father stays off any roadway that contains any other cars.

would it make you all feel better if told told he told me if he ever catches me driving over 80 on public roads he'd shoot me? he said that right be fore we took it out

No, because he went and did, what he told you to never do. Driving 130 mph and weaving in and out of traffic (even if it was at speed limit) does not make any good out of this. Driving like this in a car you're test driving does not gain any bonus points. Well I'm sure you two had fun today, I'm glad that everyone else on that freeway made it home safely to their families.

Well anyway, you had fun and that's good. I have a Porsche story too if you'll allow me to tell it. Woke up on an ordinary weekend one day then around midday my step-father gets a call from a friend who is in a Porsche Club. They were out at the local race track and wanted us to come out. Got there and there was at least 30 Porsches, a Lambo, a couple of Ferraris and even a Nations Cup Monaro all on the track at once. We were allowed in the pit lane and the owners of the Porsches (most road cars some race cars) were giving their friends rides and all. My step-father's friend arranged a ride for me in a 1980's Porsche 911 and what a great ride. Mind you I didn't need to pee myself, very little scares me. It was funny, sitting in the pit lane before going out the driver asked me if I wanted him to go slow in case I got uncomfortable- I told him "nah mate, I'm here for a thrill, you push it as hard as you are comfortable with." Anyway, it was great fun to ride in Porsche around a race track.

I'm glad you were at a racetrack.

But not while I am driving. I be a good little boy and do my racing at the track and the speed limit on the road. I meant I have been in a street race while someone else is driving. I think that puts me ahead again :sly:

[facepalm] Man thats a way to get killed and your mates parents unhappy if he had of crashed......and i trust my driving more then my mates...granteed

Actually it was my brother and I trust his driving more than my own- he's pretty good. Plus it was only ever on smooth highways. Like I said too- once traffic comes up we slow down back to the speed limit. On and over again in like 10sec.
