So, I've been lusting after a VW CC. So today, I went over to Luxury & Imports in Beautiful Middle Leavenworth.
They have a Black 2009 CC on the lot with 35,000 miles.
It's a 2.0T with a 6-spd manual.
It's really quick for a 4.
Nice features.
Great standard equipment.
Pretty sporty for a "near-luxury" sedan.
Nice handling, great clutch, stick with short throws, but not too short.
She was a runner.
Now that I've got no car payments, I find I want a car payment! Damn!

Get it mate. Been into and been driven in one. One word. Speechless!

The price is also very good for a sleek, sporty and luxury saloon. You close the door, you can barely hear anything, just solid build like a tank! If I have the money, I wouldn't hesitate to have one. It's your choice but it will be a great buy ;)

There's a VR6 version??? :dunce:

For the price of that CC, I would get a Passat R36...

Wikipedia
The North American market will receive the 2.0T and 3.6 L VR6 engine options. This version of the VR6 engine offers an output of 206 kW (276 hp) and 265 lb·ft (359 N·m) of torque available in both front wheel drive and 4MOTION versions while the 2.0T produces 200 hp (150 kW) 207 lb·ft (281 N·m). Manual transmission is available in the 2.0T engine option only.

But the 2.0T is still a zippy little motor.

Americans :sly::dopey:

everything below 5 liter is little!

Man, the 2.0t is an insane engine.
Look what ABT offers with warrenty for tune ups on the engine.
Easily 260-300hp output with a bit of money.
And you can go way bigger even. Saw already 2.0t engine nearing 500hp

Have to admit a little jealousy here. I'd really like a Passat CC, albeit likely a diesel one if I ended up buying one in the UK. It's probably one of the best-looking vehicles on the roads. Along with the Scirocco. Proves that VW can break the status quo every now and then.

Oh, it's a damn fine car.
My issues are these: VW has, in the past had a reputation for spotty quality.
Things start getting sketchy at around 40K miles.
This one has 35K. It is also a first year model, and I've seen how bad a first year model can be (my friends had a MKI Rabbit back in the day. It spent more time at Wester VW than at home).
On the plus side, the CC is for all intents and purposes a Passat in a tuxedo. And the Passat has a pretty decent reputation.

I still have to convince my wife that I NEED a new car, (even if it is a 3 year old new car).

I don't know how far VW's dodgy reputation extends. I know yours are build in Mexico and ours in Germany, and ours certainly aren't perfect by the standards of cars like Hondas and Toyotas as far as reliability goes, but VWs are still bought in their thousands here as "reliable" cars so the image obviously isn't too bad.

The engines, I think, are generally solid. CCs are actually getting down to sensible prices in the UK now, albeit for ones with high mileage. I spotted a diesel one, registered in 08, with around 140k on ebay the other day, and if it's managed to get that far without things like electrical issues my usual view is that it'd continue merrily for another hundred thousand.

Well, it's in the top three.
As far as pre-owned vehicles go: My top three are the VW, the Ford Taurus (The newer version is pretty sexy), And the Audi A6.

I've driven both an A6 and the CC.
I grew up a Ford kid and Like them. But while the Taurus has the sexy, it's also big enough and has pretty decent performance on paper....
The CC is more fuel efficient, even better looking, can be had with a manual trans.
The big up with the Ford, is the dealer is about 2km away from the house.

But the cars I'm looking at are about out of factory warranty anyhoo...
Unless, I can convince the wife that a new car in warranty is worth $6,000 more....
