I've been trying to get into the top 24 superstars lobbies lately, but I'm not entirely sure how these players are sorted.

I think it may be the top 24 drivers with the highest DR but I'm not entirely sure. Otherwise it might be the players who are top 24 in the championship at the time. I don't think it's the top 24 qualifying times.

Does anyone know for sure how the players are matched? Thanks! :D

It's based on DR points. I've had drivers who drove like only one race in the season in my top 24 race, and I really didn't get a great lap with the Mazda Gr.3.

Yeah I thought the same thing, I thought it was lap time and I was ready for the Cayman around Brazil then I saw I was ranked 52nd and I was fuming. :P Thanks! :D

I think the system will pick up the 24 best practice times of S/S and A/S drivers.

It doesn't matter if you're the highest DR driver if you don't put in a practice lap, I guess. I could be wrong.

I don't think it's clear ingame. As usual, PD put stuff in and expect players to figure it out...

I was about 2 seconds off the top time on Kyoto if I remember correctly (personal best in 2:16.1xx), yet still got picked for the top 24 race, I believe there would be at least one A/S driver in front of me in practice, but our room was full of S/S, hence why I think it's based on DR points. But yeah, PD being unclear about that doesn't help...

Then I have no idea how it works lol.

Judging from this video - its looks purely based on lap time applicable for that session. There are multiple people that have have no points for the series.

So effectively top 72 if there is 3 sessions? And if that's the case, how does an DR=A person fit into it? Unless there is less than 72 DR=S people in NA region?

Seen @ 13m 47s - 3 x DR=A
Seen @ 1h 13m 36s - only 1 DR=S and the rest As and Bs

Would really like to participate in a S S only lobby for once. Unfortunately i wont get a invite as i am ranked around 150th at the moment and dont play the FIA events much. Guessing the competition must be fierce, doubt i'll even stand a chance against these guys.

I just wish i was good enough to be an S driver... Im now working my way through B again after once being a B and being demoted back to D... Consistency is my issue... if im not winning then im usually last.

My experience so far has been that you can enter both Top 24 events. I was in both of last weeks. It's still only within your region of course.

Everyone just queues up and it picks the 24 people with the highest DR/SR rating I'd guess. And since the event is specifically setup to attract the best people, it seems to suggest that you're either part of that group or not. Unless for some weird reason, all of the top people decide not to do the event. Not sure why that would happen.

Does it give any additional points in the championships ? And when are these events held ? At the end of the week or something ?

A lot of S/S drivers don't care about FIA test seasons or can't show up. Where I live, for example, the Nation's Cup race is at 19h00 and the Manuf. Cup race at 20h10. During weekend. Lots of people use their weekends for other stuff.

My experience from the only top 24 race I cared to enter was pretty bad. Not only because I spun and took a few bumps but because the drop in frame rate in the first laps was atrocious (this had never happened before and never happened since). So I might try again this week to check if the issue happens again, even though I'm not doing the other races.

Yes. Minimum is 2000 for last place and then it goes up. The better the lobby (more DR points combined between all the drivers) the more points it gives up to the winner. I guess you some winners already took over 12k points for a win, which is ridiculous IMO.

Like i said. Havent driven the FIA events much so not sure how much points a normal high ranked match could give. But it sounds like these races give allot more. So that basically means you need the be in the top24 race to have a shot at the championship right ?

Basically, yes. That's why I think it's ridiculous. You can win all the other races prior to the top24 final and still have less points than the winner of the 24 final who just went for that race. It gives way too many points imo. And I'm saying this as someone who can get into those finals. That's probably why I went to one only. :) I don't find the point system to be improved with the final. Keep the final with more points, sure, but not such a huge multiplier.

Well yea, but we've got more than 24 S people over here I'm sure. I see a number of them in Dailies that I don't think I ever see in our daily FIA races. If I recall, our Top 24 may have even had 2 or 3 A's (who I think have moved up to S since last Saturday, so clearly they were high level As) But for the most part, we've got a pretty good regular crew of people who run the FIA races every day, mostly for fun I imagine. Seems we are looking forward to the Top 24 again (I know I am) just because it gets more of us together.

Our Top 24 races happen at 7 PM and 8 PM Eastern time over here so that's prime time for us.

If there are S/S people who aren't bothering with the FIA stuff, you really should. It's typically the best racing available in the game thus far. I can't speak for other regions.

Hmm i agree that doesnt sound good for the championship. I get that they should award more points when the competition is that much better of course, and they somehow also need to attract the fast players to the event. But it shouldnt be so OP that it can decide the championship. IMO winning or competing in the top24 should be about prestige first and a couple bonus points second. Especially since only a select few get the chance to compete in it.

I am S/S and have only done 2 so far. The first i got messed up in the first lap, the second the whole field disconnected. Both times i had practiced well but it felt a bit like a waste of time since there's no second chances, so i got a little put off by it. I also work in shifts so i can only join maybe a couple races a week at the set times and i am not always racing on those days or at those hours. That plus the fact theres still plenty of guys who are faster then me and can race more often means i will probably have a slim chance anyway. But maybe your right, maybe i will join some again for some high SOF racing. Even though i must say the racing is pretty good in the Daily's in EU region imo.

It would be great if they live streamed these top24 finals.... As a B rated driver I can't get in so I'd like to just watch and learn......

I suspect they will in the official season based on the E3 2016 video.

With the points they should just award a base line of 2000 then maybe 50% of actual points on top of that there after. There is no point for giving out 10k+ points for 1 race :P. But remember its a test season they will probably look at it :).
