Times change, and so do the standards by which actresses are "judged" by us, and by the studios that hire them.

Browse through pics of movie babes starting with the early days of movies and continuing on through the present day, and you'll notice something: Back when actresses had to stay fully-dressed in films, all that really mattered (as far as their looks went), was their faces and complexions. As long as they weren't overweight, the quality of their figures was not that big a deal.

Look at the old-school publicity photos from the 30s and 40s. If you can even find one where they're not wearing much, you'll usually be puzzled over the average figures most of them have. Heck, with the long skirts they wore, they could even get away with so-so legs.

Not any more, huh? Since so many major motion pictures now amount to nothing less than soft-core porno, and actresses routinely get completely naked on screen, their bodies are at least as important as their faces, and maybe even more so.

Look at the nude and near-nude publicity photos all actresses pose for now. That was utterly unheard of clear into the sixties, so a less-than-stellar body was not a career-buster back in the old days. Now, if a girl isn't built like Jessica Simpson, she's got two strikes against her right from the get-go. A pretty face just isn't enough anymore.

Which is why the hottest women of all time in show biz are typically from more recent times!! Thank god we got past all that long skirt stuff - that's progress.

These days you have to have a great face, and a killer bod (and you might even have to know how to act). To borrow a line from Paris Hilton - that's hot.

I've always thought nicole kidman is freking hot, tom cruise is an idiot for leaving her. i think she needs a light tan though just a little too pale.

Bah, she's much better off without him - plus now he's gone all weird with his Scientology. I know he was into it before, but you gotta admit that he seems to have gone weird in the last couple of months, yeah? :odd:

Anyway, now she's on the open market. I just need to find out if she's in Australia or LA or Hawaii or England, or anywhere else she has a house, then I can book my plane and start workin' my angle.. :sly:
