I am level 15 overall right now, coasting through the licenses and races, just finished the second AMG challenge but can't get better than 9th place in the stupid Top Gear Lotus Event.

I have spent 2 hours on this damn thing, mostly restarted after the first 20 seconds because its near impossible not to hit cones or the AI.

I turned TC up to 10 and all assists on, ABS to 10, and I can actually handle the car with those settings, problem is its costing me too much speed.

any suggestions? I don't get how they view this as a level 6 race! so far both Top Gear events were jokes! the bus one as a level 4, I gave up after bronze, its boring as hell and takes forever. Was the purpose of these races to annoy the hell out of us?

lol, dont turn up all the assists. It slows u down soooo much!! Dude, its a hard challenge, but its possible. Its all about car balance and throttle control. Leave abs at 2-3, TC at arround 4 and put the skid recovery force if u want.

TCS at 7 and ABS at 10 was a breeze for me, you can easily pass half the field by hammerhead in the first lap, also bacharach into gambon is a great place for braking late and gaining spots, the AI slows down alot here, as well as the S section before chicago you can take at almost full speed while the AI slows down.

Another tip I hear which helped me immensely was putting moving the break bias towards the front.

This was how I set it up and took 2nd on the first try. I'll knock them (assists) down a touch to hit 1st next time.

I didn't modify any of the settings to do the license tests or challenges except for one rally race. It's really easy. You should be able to pass at least the first car on the first turn. At best, the first two cars ahead of you. By the end of the third turn you should be in at least 8th place. Just employ late braking techniques and drive aggressively. The top gear track is fairly lenient in regards to where you can drive, just be careful not to hit any solid orange cones. I can upload a vid if you want but I don't have a direct feed to my computer so filming it with my camera may look sketchy.

The only thing I did to the car or settings was changed the brake bias more to the front going down the first straight. The car is much easier to control if your front brakes hold more than the rear.

At first i thought it was impossible too, but practice it, and it will become easier, do the lotus first, then the combi, turn assists off except for abs to 1 and maybe traction control to 1, once you get the hang of it, its actualy not that hard:tup:

same here but i just tried it again and beat it. Anti skid force on and tcs on 2 with abs on 1. i had to drift like the whole course.:sly:

I too found it incredibly frustrating at first, but I persisted with it. Once you figure out the bizarre handling characteristics of the Lotus on Hard Comfort tyres it actually becomes quite a rewarding challenge. I was so excited when I got bronze on it and then I was practically ecstatic when I golded it. However, there was much swearing at the TV before I finally figured it out :D

Just got gold using this thanks man. To Cammo1707, you can only change the brake bais with a dfgt. Its got the knobs on the wheel to change other settings. I use the dfp and its no sweat with those settings.

Answer to all problems, ditch the wheel pick up a DS3 turn everything off, screw the driving line, It's the only way. Trust me. I tried this a million times with the DFGT until I gave up and turned to the DS3.
