Hi Guys,

Any tips on getting GOLD for this particular challenge, this car just slides soo much, I don't recall the Lotus handling this crappy before.

Regards

I cant even do a clean lap. mostly i crash on the first corner, if i make that ill usually make it down through both 'hairpins' and then crash coming out of the medium straight onto the follow through when my rear tyre overheats for no reason at all?

oh and the one time i made a complete lap in a decent position, i crashed out at the start of lap 2 in corner 1:/:/

I have GOLD Nascar challenge, GOLD Top gear beginners and GOLD advanced yet i cant even finish 2 laps. I have all silvers in the AMG Beginners and intermediates (some gold) plus all gold in ALL of the Kart events...

Can PD not just uprate the tyres one notch so you dont always crash at corner 1?!?!

If I remember correctly, I set TCS to 3 or 4, ABS to 5, and turned on the driving aids.
my best tactic was to weave inbetween traffic on chicago, and overtake as many as possible on the main stretch and final turn. hope this helped out a little.

I ended up winning by about .8 seconds

Did it with TCS off, Skid recovery off, ASM off, ABS set to 1. I just learned how the other drivers maneuvered around the course and I just moved around them.

This is how I got it as well. It still took me a ton of attempts to get it, and I just didn't want to give up because I could feel that I was close...if you aren't in 3rd by the start of the 2nd lap, restart. Like others said you'll just start getting the hang of when to pass cars, where you can gain a lot of time on them, etc.

Be very careful in that first left turn off the start. Stay to the inside and you can cut a few off. Always know where the turn is coming, and be to the inside of the competitors.

Then just keep moving up and pick your spot for passing. I usually would pass on the end of the lap on the final little open area before you make those consecutive lefts back to the starting position.

I played with everything set on it how PD had it. I took me about 3 tries but I nailed it finally. Be patient and don't try and do more then what you can get away with, i.e. passing, drafting, cutting corners.

There are 2 types of cones. One has no white stripe, and the other has. The ones with the white stripes can be knocked down if you need room to cut through the pack. But beware, if you drive over an already knocked out one, your car will jump, and consequently, flip over.
If you hit the ones without the white stripes, you're disqualified :P

At the "Bentley" corner, there is a orange and white paint on the corner of it. The sharp point is the clipping point. Don't drive over it. Besides, there's an all orange cone there.

DO NOT GO PASS THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE "Chicago" TIRE WALL

At "Hammerhead", if you go off it, but have time to steer, make a 90 degree left corner correction and continue on. But don't wait for that moment, 'cause it will then count as a cut, and you guessed it.

At "Bacharach", be careful to not cut completely through the grass. Also, maintain your speed, because there is another grass patch on the other side.

"Gambon", it's simple, but don't cut through the grass :P

If you know this already, but can't handle the car, just practice handling slides. You'll get used to it ;)

I found moving the brake bias to the front, via settings or on screen menu, helped me a lot, as well as whacking on a load of assists.

License Test + Apply what you learn = This Challenge is not hard.

Although, the amount of oversteer is sometimes excessive, I will admit. But, if you understand why it's happening, you'll know what to do to control it.

i did it with default settings... honestly... i got gold in the lotus special event on my 3rd or 4th try... i find the car a joy in the corners... never a dull moment... the trick is to control the slides or be very accurate with the car... or both... tap the buttons... feel as the back end tries to break loose... also try the basics, like drafting text book overtaking manuovers and read your opponents... anticipate their next movement because gt5 AI is quite predictable... if you cant control the slides then dont... drive smoother, gentle on the throttle and steering... hope this helps XP

Ya...nice work with the driving aids cranked up. Try it with the traction control off and see how well you can actually control a car.

Try it blindfolded and we'll separate the men from the boys!

*Who cares if someone uses aids? Especially on Christmas eve.
