Top Gear special event no longer loading

Hi, I am new here. Just started playing GT5 in last couple weeks and am hooked. I have tried searching for an answer but did not find anything.

I am lvl 24 a spec. Tried to go into top gear special event to improve my bronze result in minibus challenge. All I get when I try to start is a black screen with gt5 logo at bottom right corner. Only thing I can do at this point is quit the game. Other special events seem to be ok, have gone into kart, and Amgen driving school today.

Anyone ever come across this?

Never had this problem. Not calling you stupid but have you tried to clean your disc?
 
Disconnect your PS3 from net..sounds bit stupid but online issues freezes offline too sometimes 👍

I have this issue before, I haven't done the top gear special event on my secondary account, but every time I try to load the event, only black screen and GT5 logo on the bottom right corner.

I had access to the track once when online in a lobby, first I thought it was caused by GT5 installation or game disc error, but I load another account on the same PS3 and using the same game disc, I can load the top gear track just fine. Then I figured, it is due to the corrupted save game file, I saved my current game file, then reload the old one. Try to load the top gear track again, same issue.

I deleted the old save and restore the current save. Still did not work, then I try to repair file system and rebuild the database on PS3. This time still does not work, then I go into GT5 game option, tried to salvage file - to see if there's any missing files, then redo the game installation and wait till it finished, and then it works. I tried loading the top gear event while online, also I sync my trophy before each try.
 
Disconnecting from Internet and cleaning the disc have had no effect. Thanks for the suggestions, but still looking for solution.

Well sorry bro. Did you try what Ridox2JZGTE said? Maybe it will solve it. Hope you figure it out.
 
The last part about redo the game installation was done through the GT5 ingame option, I did not delete the game data from XMB. Get into the game, go to option, go to the bottom, under utilities, choose pre-install game data. It will show a time to completion, even if you have installed game data, when it finished, tick stop installation box. Try to load the Top gear event, if it works, go back to the utilities option again, untick the stop installation box.

I hope you fix the problem soon.
 
The cause of my issue of Top Gear not loading was due certain bug, I joined in a lobby with the Top Gear track loaded, while I haven't actually unlocked the track yet as I haven't done the special event. It was not disc or game install issue, the other account can accessed it just fine ( already unlocked ). Somehow that trick I mentioned worked.

I was able to access the top gear special from another account I created and brought up to lvl 4.
 
The last ditch effort would be to join online lobby with the Top Gear track. There should be no issues getting into the track online, then do some races on it, then exit to Home menu, do the special event straight away.
 
Just went back to the event and it is now working. Maybe the latest game update? Whatever, just thought I'd update the thread.
