DQuaNThe Radical SR3 is road leagal here in the uk. And in most of Europe.
Jedi2016Just out of curiosity, what is an "ASONE"? It's not exactly something you can just Google (I tried).
There are also several cars on your list here that aren't on the official list on Top Gear's site. Most of them appear to be trackday cars (like the Radical), not road legal and hence, not eligible for the official list, which is for road cars only. A few of them (like the Bimoto TT) appear to be normal road cars, but aren't on the official list. Any ideas?
ExigeExcelSo how come the Prius is allowed
Or is that classified as an engine and an electric motor?
ultrabeatSo the term engine can only be used for combustion engines?
ultrabeatBut technically, electric motors can do that?
MrktMkr1986Yes, because an engine (in the mechnical sense of the term) is a motor that converts thermal energy into mechanical work -- horsepower and torque...
thats rubbish theres a good twin twin engined modified cars on the streets of the ukJacksThe BImoto TT has two engines which is illegal here in the UK![]()

im sorry what? im sure an engine converts one form of energy into another, the latter being useful energy? A combustion engine converts CHEMICAL energy into KINETIC energy. Kinetic being movement. When petrol ignites in a cylinder, the heat doesn't do anything useful, unless it's keeping you warm in winter. The cooling system in an engine is used to remove that heat as quickly as possible. The explosion in the cylinder is used to MOVE the cylinder hence MOVEMENT (kinetic) energy.
As for electrical... a powerstation burns coal, to make heat, to heat water into steam, that drives a turbine, which creates movement that makes electrical energy. Now im sure there is heat->electrical somewhere there... 💡
No it's not, I know of a few cars with two engines that are licensed and Mot'd for the UK, including the Tiget T100 or whatever it's called (the one that Tiff broke the 0-60 in a production car record in), that had two bike engines, two gearbox's ect. Also I now of aa twin engined Mini based car a guy used to own not too far from me and I've read about a few in different car magazines. I'd love you to explain why and show where it shows that twin engined cars is illegal.JacksThe BImoto TT has two engines which is illegal here in the UK![]()

I saw this. Jeremy said he got his Volvo for £1! Most of the electronics didn't work, even the speedo.ElstroWho saw the feature they did hen they bought three saloons for £100? Jeremy had a V6 Volvo 760 GLE, May had a Golf-engined Audi 180 1.8E and Hammond had (IMO the best of the three) a Rover 416 GTI (British Honda CRX - had the 1.6 litre Honda D-series twin-cam 16v engine, 130bhp) They did power laps with them as well!
Rover - 1:42:000 (fastes car, smallest engine!)
Audi - 1:46:000
Volvo - 1:48:00
