I cant find any info online about it but my frined tells me it ahs a Skyline RB26DETT in it?? Can anyone let me kno if this is true or not. TY Peace!

Supra with a Rb26dett?!?? I wouldnt think it would fit... well i mean anything is possible with money so... but still that is just "UNIQUE" never heard of that rumor before...

ROll

They both pack twin turbo straight sixes, so the engine bay should accomadate the RB26DETT.

Why you'd change out the Supra engine for the smaller Skyline engine is beyond me...

...OK, now that I've looked at the site...who the hell would pay over 100k for a Supra with a 3SGTE!? I feel dumber just for looking at that.

LancerEVO Boy, did you read this line?

Thought so

Apparently you don't know how strong/light, the 3s motor is. It's been used w/out fail, in many different platform's for almost a decade.

And to answer the question, who would pay 100k for a Supra? Someone that want's one of the fastest track/road car's in the world, that will embarass almost any exotic car in production today, at a fraction of the cost.

The Supra comes with an engine that will make more power than a 3SGTE reliably. So why bother swapping in the first place?

The 2jz can make more power, but it can't give the MK4 Supra something it need's the most; less weight. Alot less weight.

You have to keep in mind, this car wasn't tuned to go to Hot Import Night's, or to talk **** in street races. It's a car built for the track, a place that doesn't favor 1000hp, overweight Supra's.

There's a wonderful process called 'gutting' that works wonders for reducing weight. I also don't street race or attend car shows, so you can drop the condescension.

Your right, but there is only so much weight you can remove. If it's difficult for you to understand the benefit's of the swap, I suggest you take the time to read a book called common sense.

aight people calm down. Geez.

I think the Supra with the RB26 was in a tuner mag (I wanna say super street or sport compact car). I wanna say that it made something like 650-700rwhp. Could be wrong. I have the magazine, so I'll check it out.

The Supra with the 3SGTE in it was so because the engine is lighter and allows for better weight distribution, which was critical in the design of a top speed car. www.superstreetonline.com has the car in its features catagory, just look a while and you'll find it. Hope this helps.

Also, risingson77, they didn't use too much gutting because that would remove weight from the cab and the rear, but not the front, which is harder to gut due to vital engine components. A lighter engine makes all the difference :D. Hope this helps everyone.

to answer your question, YES
there is a top secret supra with an RB26 in it,
i saw it in a documentary called "High Performance Imports"

And i would also have to agree with Monster 7 about the supras with the 3stge
umm...im definatley sure that they use that in the JGTC

:) :) :)

I've read an article on the Top Secret Supra. so yeah what you heard is correct, it has a RB26 in it. Top Secret also has a BNR34 that has a VQ30 motor in it, among other things.

yeah, I just read that article. it was bored out to 3.4 litres, making it a vq34, and had twin Top Secret N1 turbos. Make 532whp. Awesome stuff. It's in December's Turbo Magazine.
