Torque

Why is it that win you buy or win a car the torque always goes way down from the stats in the showroom?

No, it's actually a cheap advertising scam used by the game to make the car seem better so you'll purchase it.

I think they messed up the units. For us Americans, torque is usally measured in foot pounds. Then, there's the standard Newton Meters. I don't know, but I imagine that some places measure in kilogram-meters, also. So, I think the game messed up somewhere in its calculations and its unit assignments, giving you something strange. But, as long as the torque's there when you are actually driving, it's ok

You're supposed to multiply it by something arbitrary like 7.2 to get the right number in ft/lbs. I'm not sure where I saw that, but somewhere there's a thread that has the right conversion factor. It doesn't hurt the car's performance at all, just makes the spec sheet difficult to read.

Multiply the tourqe of your car by approximately 7.35 to get a pretty accurate reading.
