Western Australians and South Australians have just been witness to a sensational event - a total Solar eclipse. Unfortunately, the best view was south of where I live (approx. 1700 km!), and also unfortunately, I didn't have the right filters on my sunnies, so I couldn't go out and watch it. I had to look out the window and watch as it got darker. The sky didn't really get that dark, and the sun was still shining, but this is a rare event, so I'm lucky to be witness!

I guess I'll have to wait another X years for the next one and buy some filtered sunnies, so I can travel to where it's going to happen.

My astronomy proffessor takes vacations where there are going to be total eclipses. He has seen just about all of them in the last 25 years.

I saw it on CNN earlier tonight. It looked very cool! It got dark very fast and the sky lit up again. Cool stuff.

Damn, you got the whole thing! When they only showed the moon passing over the sun, they only showed it as the moon had already overlapped the sun!

Erm, 12 sec. Civic, why is it that you want a Lotus Esprit, and your avatar is that of a Lotus, but your name is that of a Civic?

Me, I like Holden!

:holden:

There was one nearly right over STL in '94, I was in 2nd grade I believe, and the whole school watched it through special glasses and boxes. It was real cool.

I only heard about it this morning. Saw a few seconds on BBC World. I think it's supposed to appear every 28 years.
