Touch Screen Rear Projection - WOW..!

I've never seen anything like this before. I think with newly released native 1080p Short Throw projectors the whole immersion thing goes a big step up, and now to have seen this - makes my mind boggle with possibilites in a cockpit and different cars and their features.

 
Yeah thats really cool. The only thing really holding back cockpit design is screen tech to be able to form screens to what we want. Its a huge pain in the a$$. I've spent about 8 months going back and forth with screen manufacturers trying to get just the right screen. I just don't want a curved screen, I want more, I want it to be able to morph from curved to faceted to maybe huge FOV vertically. Anyway i guess I want to much. LOL
 
On a flat surface touchscreen using a projector is nothing new, though you need more than just a projector. It had something to do with massive amounts of IR LEDs around the edges of the screen. Don't remember it very well but there was several people who did such thing on instructables.com.
 
You need to have an interactive dashboard (cars) to use the touch screen ingame when playing racing games.

We just had one of those installed at my work. Pretty cool stuff.
