This is not true. All you have to do is drive in the rain to see that there is much less grip.

He is partly correct. There is less grip when it's raining, but don't bother with rain tyres, racing softs have more grip. Also some times it does rain but the track is dry, you'll know when this happens though as there is no spray off the track.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that the grip is similar between inters and slicks. The reason they only use inters in the rain is because, on a dry surface, the tread catches air which causes the tyres to overheat and degrade quicker.

Given that tyre damage isn't in effect on this event inters should perform just as well on a dry track as they do in the wet?

poetic license/sarcasm on my part. As I stated 'turn the TCS up on the fly'. The point is you can drive much faster on slicks rather than wets, even in monsoon conditions, in Aspec.

Nope monza they crawled around the track, my b spec guy was half a lap ahead before the first lap, being on actual rain tires (in the FTG series) and nearly lapped them all by the 3 lap.

And tried softs in the rain and got killed before. So i dunno maybe b spec rain actually works the way it is supposed to, and having raced in the rain at la sarthe and nurburg myself in a spec i can tell you the track is slippery. And the ai again pitted there on the first lap after slow boating around the track, and in all cases the rain never let up it was full on monsoon season.

And i will not turn on tcs since i never use it unless i absolutely have a car that undrivable without it. And rain tires in a rain race make a car drivable.

Yes it does, I specifically referred to Aspec. Go to the tires thread, someone has done testing as well.

Ähm, did any one of you watch the replay from the AI hunting you down?

There you can see, why he was so fast, which tyres he used and if he got the rubber band attached to your car.

Excellent point. Shame I never though about it at the time, as it would have been very revealing 👍
