Touring Car/Super Touring Car differences?

They are both available in the Online Used Collector's Dealership, but what's the difference between the two? Nothing as far as I can see...

The Vauxhall Touring cars dont exist, its just plain stupid. Only in Germany the touring Cars were made and used, not in England. No Vauxhall DTM car does exist...
 
Not stictly true.. I believe the Opel DTM cars ran as Vauxhalls when the DTM visited Donington in the 90s!
 
I'm also interested in buying a good touring car to race the DTM series and the German race B( can't remember the name... sorry )

There was a Abt Audi TT-R yesterday on the UCD but it's now gone... I should've bought it...
 
You can see my vote for favorite. The Mercedes CLK is pretty kick ass as well.

And yeah the Vauxhalls and Opels are identical cars. I'd say the Vauxhalls are rarer in game as I've never seen them on a in-game grid before.

Rally peev'd about all of these on the OUCD. It took me weeks to get all these cars.

I love the Deutche Touring car Nurburg so I have tried to get all of the compatible cars. Then they just put nearly all of them on a UCD for you just like that.

Well I'm only really moaning because the only one I'm missing isn't there. I need the Audi R8 LMS car 09.
 
OK Now all I have to do is keep racing the ring with the ones I have until I climb from level 30 to level 32.

Guess what I will be doing for the next couple of days. :)

I've been wanting to get all these cars also. Which one is the best IYO?
 
The audi lms r8 just showed up at my UCD, what a koinkidink. I'm a million short, the seasonal event pays out 2,000,000 if I win. Quite the dilema. I only have a couple chances till it disappears. My first instinct is to destroy everyone with my tuned lexus and get the money. Or tune and use the CLK?
 
^^^^ Tough call. I never use that Lexus so I would go with that one.

So go with the one you use less. Or flip a coin.
 
I'm impatient, cleaned out the garage clutter and picked up the r8. I am guessing the lexus is still the fastest, I will test this issue further.

Yes the CLK is a killer car, "Bob" just did em in, Audi, BMW, Vauxhall etc, in the DTM race.
 
Im not sure what the difference is but some of them wouldnt qualify for Super Touring In the BTCC between 1990-2000. The Super Touring Class Had a Maximum 2.0 litre engine, Normally Aspirated, and had 4 doors. In the Uk the Vauxhall competed with the 2.0 litre Vectra. All your examples have engines that are too big and Even though they Did make a 4 Door Astra the one in the game is 2 door I think.

I think the cars would be more suited to Original Touring Car Rules Or the German DTM which allowed 2.5 litre cars.

So In conclusion I have no Idea why theyre called super touring cars.
 
I'm also doubtful about getting vauxhall or opel DTM cars ... I may get the Opel Vectra just for historical reasons ( i.e. it really existed ! ) and due to the fact I have the Opel Astra ...
and on the other hand I'm collecting these and it's 2.5M cr to get the Vauxhall counterparts, that's not exactly a gift :(
 
It is based on a real car. It competes in a number of endurance races (very successfully) including the Nurburgring 24 Hours.

I think and its only my opinion that the CLK is the quickest.

Tough pick for the most fun but I'd go with either the Audi A4 or Abt Audi TT.

There are based on cars straight from the dealership and only an oil change.

Actually I thought the Playstation Audi R8 was a bit of a let down considering I paid 5 million plus for it. Seemed to rank near the bottom of time and fun to drive. Maybe I didn't quite get as much out of the 4WD.
