Toyota GT-one.... wow

Yes, the GT - One is one of my favorite race cars of all time. I was fortunate enough to see one in real life although it was only a static display. This is one beautiful piece of machine.

I found it on the UCD. By comparison against the 787b, r92cp, 905 and 908 it is the most fun of the lot, and not a slouch either.

Yeah I gotta give this car love, one of my fav's. I was able to get the 250mph trophy with it on Indy. Of course I had to draft to get to 250 but it will do 240+mph unassisted.

Definitely a great car. Got mine in the UCD and it was worth every penny (and the effort put into grinding to get back the money I spent on it).

You dont see many people with them.
I love bringing it out and trumping others in their 787bs, 908s, R10s, etc.

Ten7ryder, that is the '98 car that you got in Gran Turismo 2. The '99 car that was in GT2 (but you had to get all golds in the S License) was carried on until now. Great car, but I haven't gotten it yet unfortunately.

Its an amazing, legendary car and its Japanese so why is it standard?

I got mine two weeks ago in B spec Le Mans, since then i've hardly been out of it. I love it, its great to drive and feels great around Sarthe. One bonus too is that it's pretty rare to see at the moment.

I know that's the '98 car. It's still a Toyota GT-One is it not? AFAIK it's identical to the '99 except for a different paint job?

If you listen to Toyota about it, its not identical. There were apparently changes to bodywork but they're not very noticable. Probably all very minor changes under the skin.

I was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2007 which had a Toyota theme so I got to see the '98 GT-One running up the hill. (The sound for it in GT4 was pretty much spot on. I don't know why they ruined it for GT5.) A '99 car was suspended in a huge frame along with four other cars on the front lawn. It looked amazing.

I just saw a story the other day talking about how toyota is bringing the GT-one back to race again. That should be cool.

Can you post a link? please

Saw one in my UCD and it looked interesting so I hit up the forums. Thanks for the info on this car everyone, everyone loves it so I'm buying it.

Could have bought it today in my UCD but because I'm just 300'000XP away form level 35 B-spec I decided to wait... 24hours b-spec keeps me away from playing though!

Very fun car to drive, I dont have it, but did take it around the ring at my friends house and i must say its quite hard to control without assists using a DS3.

Actually not true. The '99 model had on the nose downforce attachments on the front corners and four tail lights.

While the '98 model has no downforce attachments on the nose and has six tail lights.

I'm nerdy, I know. :)

If true, *Faints*. If not, *Cries*.

Would I be going off topic if I said I'm 6 hours and 34 minutes into the Le Mans 24H race with a stock Toyota GT-One? XD

I bought it some time ago... I didn't like it and I traded it away :scared:, mostly because the engine sound is... how can I explain it... it's so awful it hurts my ears...

But now I'm ready to give him a second chance, hopefully I'll get it tomorrow via trade... all this positive feedback on the car can't be wrong :)

I will trade you one for any other comparable race car / fast car. My garage is rather small because I don't dupe but I'll dupe you one and trade it for anything nice if you like :). Let me know!

they might race it in a "reunion" race, but not in official GT-1

Made me laugh. Sure seems that way, but I think the only distinguishing factor between whether or not a car was premium'd or not, was if the team made it that far down the list by the time sony told them to ___ or get off the pot, not because it was/wasn't wanted.

I'm sure Kaz would have gone in alphabetical order if they let him. But then the game would only have made it to Ferrari... :)

when u go into them trade lobbies with it, ppl **** their pants. I would never trade it

Someone tell me how to get this. I managed to wheelie it on GT4 with a friend. I remember we went crazy when we saw it (we had spent like 2 hours tuning and re-tuning it to do it xD)
