Online, the rear suspension bottoms out in compressions while turning, and makes the car step out violently. This doesn't happen offline. Especially noticeable in Fuchsröhre

The physics online are different to the offline physics. That's probably why.

You get a full *decompressed* suspension in online, thus the difference.

FT86 has very, very soft default front springs, so you have to watch for it.

Great car to drive.

Fixed.

I find it really hard to drive this car stock online, its feels like the car has sports hard in the front and comfort hard in the rear.
Beautiful car to drive stock in offline though.

It's your technique. Manage the car's attitude better and you won't have a problem. If it's difficult, you're trying too hard.

The car is terrible online. No matter the setup. It will snap-oversteer for nothing.

It's the game that's broken, not his driving technique.

The car seriously doesn't work well online. Everything that is suppose to be simulated offline from real life completely falls apart when driven online.

Maybe your suspension is too low or have too much camber because in some of my cars I having the same problems

I've driven my 86GT online quite often, and don't have a problem, even with the different physics.

The car is incredible to drive 99% of the time. But get it in a compression with some throttle on and the back end steps out violently. Obviously bottoming out. It doesn't do that offline, only online.

That's because you have adapted to it but the fact that the real driving simulator has more than one physics standard is a problem for the game.

Seems the opposite when trying to drift it online. I can drift it just as well as any other car offline (which isn't very well, but I'm trying) but online it feels as though ASM and SRF are on when not even driving line or ABS are on, let alone ASM and SRF.

Don't know the specifics (amar212 does, because I think I found this out because of him), but apparently, all games are tweaked for online play. It's a way to have things run smoothly and all that. Can anyone really explain? I'd prefer not to ask my brother.

Could be but I doubt it is the main reason.

In offline mode, I can handle the 86 with ease on the Nurb.
The balance of the 86 is very impressive. Quite easy to feel when the car reaches its limits and and the rear hardly slides unless coaxed on purpose. Even when the grip limits are reached it happens progressively, no sudden snap under/oversteer.

Nurburgring Nordschleife (Offline)
Stock 86 with oil change (fully broken in,no aero)
Sports Hard tires
All aids off except ABS1
Grip Reduction: Real
Laptime: 8:12.665

Not the fastest laptime on this forum(~3 seconds off the record on the Nurb laptime board), but I find it difficult to achieve the same results in online mode.
I haven't driven the 86 in online for about 6 months, but the one big thing I remember is the awful snap oversteer.

I drove the gt86 stock too at nurburgring gp and I didn't experienced snap oversteer even when I be full throttle
