Toyota/TRD fans Shafted.

I'm sure we'll have someone crack open the GT4 data files very soon and have a comprehensive list of hidden/prize/purchasable [is that a word?] cars.

<sarcasm>I'm quite pissed that the Chevy Aveo is not in the game. I love that car!</sarcasm>

Oh boohoo. There's 700 or so other cars in the game, pick one. Its not that hard, really.

Now, the 05 Vette or the 05 Cobalt SS would have been nice additions, but its not gonna ruin my gaming experience because two of my favorite American cars aren't in the game.

Are you Joking or what man?

Hell, 1 0ut of 10000000 Japanese cars is not featured and you're pissed? Hell what about US car fans who really got shafted and european car lovers who were shafted too, 1 0ut of 1000000 of their cars made it, now that's what I call being shafted.

See ya :sly:

I can't see how Toyota fans got shafted... sure.. I don't see any 20 Valve Corolla's.... but still... we now got all the MR2s, an array of Celicas, Truenos/Levins, and all sorts of stuff. I honestly feel Toyota did very well.. and I am a huge Toyota fan... HUGE

yeah toyota is like 2nd behind nissan with the amount of the cars (im probably wrong). anyways where is my 924 :dopey: ? 💡 oh yeah porsche is not there  sorry...just letting off some steam. i can't wait for GT4 anylonger or im going to have a stroke!

You see, this is why I'm neutral on cars. Nationality and certain types of car don't seriously bother me. I'm a pretty good fan of Toyota, so I might too be shocked about this deal, but I'm not saying that I'm being shafted. You want shafted? Look at Australian fans wanting Bathurst! Gran Turismo was never about the celebration of one certain type of car, nationality of car, or exact cars. Gran Turismo expresses diversity among cars and their manufacturers. I know I'm going to ignite a bigger fire, but that's how it is. One is almost never satisfied with GT4 all because a certain car or feature is missing. I feel sorry for the hardcore Toyota enthusiasts involved or affected, but this is a rather pointless argument. With each passing GT, you learn to take advantage of other new cars. For me, the Mitsu 3000GT/GTO was my ticket to success. Come GT2, I had to find something new. Same went for GT3, and I'm sure GT4 will be no different.

By the way, I'm surprised this one isn't getting locked based on the time I pre-typed this reply. As I said, this is about enthusiasm to me. Yeah, many Skylines and Lancers. Yeah, more Japanese cars than maybe the rest of the world combined. I don't complain about these things. I'm concerned about what cars and tracks make it into GT4, but I'm not like "damn you, PD! Why didn't you put this car/track into the game?" I understand your concern and you make a good argument, but I cannot agree about being "shafted." The only time I feel I'm shafted about GT4 is if the series goes into a direction that doesn't deliver the style of gameplay that makes GT4 the hottest racing game in the modern era. Then I will complain. So if you aren't already, learn to be an auto enthusiast.

I'm a bit desapointed too by the lack of Toyota Tuner cars: No TOM's T111 , Altezza or MR2 ( you know the one with the snorkel )+ no TRD2000GT or TRD 3000 GT.
That the main reason I still play GT2.
Maybe I should cancel my preorder of GT4 :)

At least they have the rare race car like the Toyota Can-AM.

They didn't even have the Mugen powered DOME S101 LMP1 may be because it was a DNF last year.

Well is just you gain some and loose some, just can't have everything.

I'm happy just to know that the Vitz rs turbo (Yaris turbo t-sport) is included. Not that I don't like all the other Toyotas. :) My first post..

its JZX100 not 1000.

As for now SZ supra GOOD wtf would you want to waste time for on the atmo pos. I do agree though the chaser/MarkII would be nice addition as would the 3000GT but I still think theres plenty of choices there for the toyota fan

Alright there's a decent amount of Toyota cars in the game, but there are some big holes in there too.

Where's the Toyota Chaser JZX1000? They have an Aristo but not the mighty Chaser? I know they have a Tom's Chaser, but where is the stock one?

Speaking as an owner of a Japanese Spec Australian Delivered 1997 Toyota Supra RZ I'm glad to see my car there but I'm also dissapointed at the lack of MKIV Supras in this game (At least GT3 had the Atmo Version to tool around with). Where are the Supras in the Tuner Garages? They have a Blitz Skyline but not the Blitz Supra (THe same Blitz Supra that once held the Nurbergring Record). Also It would have been nice to see the Jun Supra or the Top Secret GT300 Supra in there.

Also where's the TRD 3000GT? If I wanted to drive a stock looking Supra I'd play GT3 or just drive my own car. I wanted to drive the pinnacle of Toyota Styling the TRD 3000GT.

Well i can always hope for GT5.

There are 10 supra's already in the game and your still complaining? Some car companies don't even have 10 cars total... What about ford? Two mustangs, 05 Mustang (which should have been in there 👍 ) '00 Cobra-R (another good choice). But what else? Nothing... What about the '03 or '04 Cobra, the S/C version with hand built engines (some having over 400hp). Or the 1996 Super Stallion with its 590bhp. Mach 1's? Nope not in GT4... But I'm not b1tching. I really don't care because I'll have just as much fun racing around in a Mustang as I do with a NSX, or a Supra, or a RX7, or whatever.

Whats next, someone complaining about GT4 not having the 2003 and a 1/2 Red with white racing stripes Civic II Type-R Spec-V with the 2.5L DOHC v-tec I4 engine...???

Be happy with the well over 700 car list. I know I am...

As far as the 03-04 Cobra are concerned, we can always supercharge the 05 as a substitute... 👍 it should just as powerful if not more powerful than 390 horsepower.

But either way, you're right. 700+ cars is more than any other game (that I know of anyway) and is more than enough... for now... :sly:

I really dont Count the Car list as 700 cars, more like 500 cars (maybe) 200+ Variations of the same car. It'll be good none the less, Every time I look at the Used Car List on the American Side, I want to Cry.

Its just the 03/04 Cobra is my "realistic" dream car... I think its a little sexier then the 05GT, plus its a SVT production. And the idea of driving in a car powered by a S/C hand-built engine really appeals to me. But none of that's gonna matter when I tune a 05GT to 400+hp I guess :)

To tell the truth I am a little disappointed at how much attention the Civic, Integra, RX7/RX8, Legacy, Skyline, NXS's, S2000's, FTO's, GTO's, Evo's, Fairlady Z's, Impreza's, etc., etc., etc., etc... Just wish that they'd pay a little more attention to American Cars. But I love Imports just the same. The only thing you'll hear me complain about is not having GT4 in my PS2 disc tray...

Once GT4 is released here in America, GTP isn't going to hear from me for weeks. Now that I think about it, I'm sure GTP will drop quite a bit for the first day or two that its released here in America eh?

I like Skylines alot, But I'd choose a Muscle car over one anyday, Personal Preferance. that Cuda and GTO are going to be REALLY fun to toy with!

Yep thats how I see it too. Its got to the stage where car counts are ambigious. I think they should be listed as say X amount of cars with an additional Y variations then it wouldnt be as misleading.

Note to USA residents who seem to forget about the rest of the world. Its a JAPANESE game developer for a JAPANESE developed console for a JAPANESE company. Be happy you get cars in there and stop whinging about its biase towards japanese cars because face it, the original and main market is Japan. Personally I love the japanese cars and it does have a nice mix of other manufacturers to keep me amused :D

We're not "whinging", just telling the thread starter not to cry about the lack of supra's when there are 10 of them in GT4, because if your an American car fan then 10 models of the same car is A LOT.

Just so you know, with Japan's total population around half of America's... I feel that GT4 will sell more copies in America then in Japan. You'd think they'd want to cater to us a little more. With that being said, 50,000 Skylines, 30,00 evo's, and 27,000 NSX's and just 2 mustangs are putting it on just a little to thick, what do you think?

Regardless, I am still going to enjoy the 700+ cars...

It always seems as if we come to the same arguments time and time again. On one side:

And on the other:

All I can say is, it's all about the drive, not the cars. Hell, GT4 could all be go-karts and Power Wheels and mountain bikes and I'd still love the experience. It could even be the world's first 24-Hour road race at the Nurburgring... ON FOOT! And I'd still enjoy the experience. I do have some of my favorite cars and wished they'd be in GT4. But when I really think about it, I'll always have a car to fall back on if one isn't in the game. I'll take the original car if the car is in the game, but not in the color or livery I want it to have. I can't have everything and neither can anyone else. I'm not complaining over too little attention to American cars either.

To bring up a totally different topic, there's a lot of Japanese cars, a good number of American cars, how do you feel about the attention given to cars from the rest of the world?
