Does anyone know where I can find a decent review on this truck. Or maybe someone can give me there own opinion.

I am really curious about the engine. They are offering a 245 4.0L V-6 with a 6 speed transmission. Anyone have any personal expereince with this engine?

Good to see you back, Magic.

I like the X-Runner very much, to be honest. It's a nice performance-oriented truck and it's actually a pretty decent deal. $23100 buys you the second-quickest truck on the market and the third-quickest of all-time, plus good standard spec (6-CD, leather steering wheel, keyless entry). Handling is truly surprising - I've driven one and I was absolutely blown away with the quality of handling. I realise it's a lowered two-wheel drive truck with eighteen-inch wheels but it handles better than any truck I've ever driven. It is also Toyota's quickest vehicle.

I certainly recommend it, though if you're looking at a performance truck I also suggest the 1991 GMC Syclone, which is about 1.2 seconds quicker to sixty and has standard all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission; plus it lists for about $4000-$10000 less.

But to find a Syclone or a Typhoon is no easy task. And to find one that hasn't been ragged on is even harder. But if you find a good one you will have a blast with em. Turboed 4.3L and AWD. I call em the skylines of the truck world, but people (fanboys) tend to get on my case about that.

You can also look at SVT Lightinings, they are really quick. But then again there stylin' is meh at best.

The X-Runner is a pretty quick truck, although I looks a bit weird with it's shogun stylin kit on it and it WRX hood. I'm sure there are a good deal of performance parts for em though. Check out www.stylinconcepts.com for parts.

I had no trouble - the prices seem to break obviously on AutoTrader. You've got the first batch, $14000-$20000, which were washed every Sunday and have 30k on the clock. Then you have the second batch, $8000-$14000, which were daily drivers with 120k and have scratches and custom wheels. Either way, it's one hell of a truck.

Hmm I've been looking around for one, me and my dad were talking about getting one and around here at least we had a hell of a time trying to find a half way decent one. Might just be around here, but then again you are only on the other side of the state.

Usually, from what Toyota dealers here tell me, this truck has to be pre-ordered by buyers. They told me you'll rarely see on these models on the dealer's lot new or used.

I can sort of, since my parents just got a new Tacoma (not an X-Runner though). It's a powerful engine—the thing seems to always spin at 1500rpm no matter how fast you're going. It's a little loud, but otherwise it's just perfect.

I highly recommend it. 👍 I love our Tacoma, although it's a double-cab long-bed 4x4, so it's like fifty feet long and twenty feet off the ground (X-Runners are considerably lower to the ground though, and I don't *think* you can get them in double-cab long-bed trim).
