100% Itz, im 30 now, had a tough life till i was about 23 when i decided to talk my way into uni and have a go at doing something positive (fine art at the VCA Melbourne) (never finished or did yr 11 let alone 12, was too busy being a mental case westy ha ha ha!). taking that time off from school and all was the BEST thing for me.. it REALLY let me come to terms with who i was and what i wanted to be/do. its a VERY special thing to find your calling or passion early on in life, i thought i had like 20 times, and REALLY pursued those avenues only to find out it was a bit of an obsession but not a deep enough one to commit everything i had to. Over time my love for motorsport has grown, seemingly without me noticing it, one day i woke up and was like, i think i have oil for blood... that was a few years back now but only in the last few months have i even thought about trying to make it my life... i was like, 'why the hell not??'. i believe im as intelligent and capable as anyone, able to read and take in the pertinent info with quite good economy and have good muscle memory so don't naturally forget the tasks i am taught.. anyways, the point is, doing an apprenticeship with your folks is a great thing!, it will teach you perspective and that simple things have a classic approach. if you can work out how and why your dads business works, you can draw those parallels to any other avenue your pursue and have a greater effect noticing how it all flows. A little perspective and time before you jump into the motorsport world an amazingly powerful tool.

Will def keep you all posted!

edit* if i make it to a V8 team i will get us all to the mountain for a Bathurst... in a few years ;) lol!

Exactly correct @Mtla1984, you have to chase your dreams and do something you are passionate in. I went to a speedway rising star camp at the AIS a few years ago and Wade Aunger (v8 Ute track commentator and speedway commentator) came and spoke to us about how to present ourselves and conduct in the media and in public. The one point he focused on at the start was 'Passion'. If you have passion for something, then you will be successful at it. It sounds like you are definitely passionate about what you want to do and that will serve you well.

In my case, at the very least i think it will be good to go get a different perspective on things and meet new people and do something different. It will at least let me work out whether replacing glass is something I enjoy and even make me a better worker, answering to someone who isnt related to you. But the more i think about it, Motorsport has been my life ever since I was 7 and possibly even before that, so to make a living from it would be great. and if it doesnt work out theres always the fall back of replacing windows!

Very muchly so Itz! i have a feeling you are even more addicted to the racing than myself so a career in motorsport i think would be a wonderful way for you to spend your life! which i wish i found earlier! lol. Replacing glass is something that will always be needed so is a great skill to have for the reassurance of income, But you have a good complex mind so using that within something you love will satisfy you further. :) move to melbs or a major city at some point and have a crack i say!

Good on ya Soks@@@ Have a great time . . . catcha next time you're on mate! Problems still happening - but raced another series last night and stayed connected all night?? So . . . we'll see I guess hahahahaha

LOL to Itz! get in Soks! lol!

and once again fingers crossed for Gas! my net is being a little funny lately also, took back the new modem to get another one as netgear thought it may have been faulty.... but they all are... always... back to the old one that has worked all series and the brother can wait a whole few hours before he gets back to downloading everything he will never have the time to watch/read/listen (more than annoying).

for any of the Alfa boys racing tonight i will be online in an hour or so to do a little more setup work then can pass on my tune if either of you are interested! this is a tricky course so dont worry about senna like apex skills, i feel going a little slower will actually make you a little faster. rhythm over speed.

New Format To Decide Champion

In a special press conference at the Circuito de Mardid earlier today, Series chairman ItzRacing outlined changes to the series format to decide the 2014 Australian Track Stars Touring Car Series Champion.

The new format dubbed 'The Finals' was unveiled to the press and media.

"Following a discusion with all the competitors who have shown commitment to the series so far, we agreed that in interests of creating a close competition for the Drivers Championship, we will proceed with 'The Finals' format." ItzRacing said. We hope this continues to be a fair way to allow some drivers who have missed rounds due to outside commitments, the opportunity to compete for the Drivers Championship."

The Finals

Introduction

The Finals is a format devised to determine the drivers champion for the Track Stars Touring Car Series. It see a select number of drivers points totals reset for the closing rounds of the championship, with the drivers competing against each other and other competitors for the right to be the Track Stars Touring Car Champion.

Eligibility

To be qualify for ‘The Finals’ a driver must be inside the Top 6 in the series standings at the conclusion of Round 12 at Grand Valley Raceway. All other drivers will still be allowed to compete in the remaining races of the season; however they will be out of contention to win the championship itself.

Events

‘The Finals’ will take place over the last 4 rounds of the season

Round 13: Tsukuba Circuit – November 27th

Round 14: Suzuka Circuit – December 4th

Round 15: Mount Panorama – December 11th

Round 16: Special Stage Route 5 – December 18th

Points

All drivers will continue to score points using the current points system for their finishing positions, laps led, fastest laps, pole positions and Grand Slams, regardless of eligibility.

Base Points at the beginning of ‘The Finals’ will be 2000 points.

Drivers will also be awarded extra 5 points for every round win achieved before Round 13.

The driver with the Highest Points at the end of Round 12 will also be awarded an extra 5 points.

The Champion will then be the driver with the highest points at the end of the Championship.

When are we starting in AEST?

If you are in Queensland you will start 30 minutes earlier than the time on the schedule. So it will be 7:20pm AEST, 7:50 ACDT, and 8:20 AEDT :)

Or in simple terms, the room will be open in 30 minutes as of the time i edited this and spec check will be in 50 minutes! :)

Well in a strange twist of luck, we got the race in quick enough to avoid the mass disconnection when we were practicing for Spa!

Thanks to everyone who took part in tonights races! We had a new record field of 9 cars. If we could get everyone to race at Spa next week i think we could reach double figures with VENDALISM's possible return from his working commitments. Great racing by everyone across the night on what is a very difficult track. I cursed myself in that final race. When I was cruising around in race 2 i was thinking to myself "Gee the racing looks like good fun back in the pack, it would nearly be worth being back there." So of course I ended up facing the wrong way, buried deep in the pack racing everyone for 3rd place. I actually did have a lot of fun fighting my way back through the field in that final race.

Race results will be up once i sift through the replays and make sure nothing untoward happened throughout the entire field across all the races and then confirm the points and update them onto the new look scoreboards! . I will also try to get the drivers briefing up in the next couple hours.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and to everyone else who is racing out in the real world, good luck! :)

Great round all!, once again my apologies for the untimely tap Itz!,.. how ever we proceed is absolutely fine by me!.

in regards to 'The Finals' awsome idea!, really cool way to get it competitive again with the bop fine tunes that have taken place!, next years series is really looking in rather tip top shape!

Congrats to Soks on his win on his special night ;)

Spa is gonna be great! see you all there or at a practice some time during the week!

Was amazing having so many cars out there!, def would be great to have Vend back if he is up for it was also cool NW could make it!

Yeah unfortunately those things happen :)

Bad luck to yourself and nosoks about the disconnections in Race 1, it was looking like a very competitive race until then...

yeah the lag in race two was strange also, my replay show soks ahead, then crashed with smoke everywhere in the wall on the side of the track, then would suddenly shoot a five million miles an hour back to where i guess he actually was, which was a bit ahead! i got side by side a few times in the tight squiggly section and was crunched into the barriers (by lag as the same thing would happen, he would just shoot up the road 5 times faster than any car possibly could smoking tyres all the way). after a while i just shut it out and did qual laps but soks was just faaaar too fast and consistent!. Very well done to him on both races!, actually, i think he held me off in both races we completed! am so coming back at spa!.... i hope! ha ah ha!

We had a couple of epic battles MT. If that was my lag I apologize, from my perspective it just seemed like door to door action. Great CLEAN racing is epic
Bring it on at Spa

I did better than I thought I would with no practice for the race but this one at Spa, I'll hopefully be there and will be better prepared!

ha ha ha soks yeah there were lengthy door to door bits and then internet issues, i am def not one to EVER bring that sort of stuff up as if it were an accusation, you beat me fair and square which i have less than any problem with! just sucks that i couldn't trust what was going on enough to attempt any passes or what have you, race 3 showed that i needed not have bothered being so nervous as you where off like a rocket (even when i did a lap .5 faster than you it seemed to make no dif lol!!)
can post pics of the lag probs as it seems others are having a hard time believing me?. CLEAN racing is all i want, makes my heart go pow! i was also bringing it up as during the race i was worried it was my connection ruining YOUR race which i am very pleased it didnt!
:) great win Soks and Itz! Thoroughly deserved! and killer battles with both! (this was def my most eventful round that's for sure!!)

love Spa!, is one of my absolute favs! prob done 80 100% f1 races there... LOVE. Webber on the OUTSIDE of Alonso up Au rouge anyone?.... amazing! :)

Yeah NW you were doing some decent laps for no prac!, well done! Also to Bencrow, Err, Plugg and Addz really cool to have you guys in the series and show up so often! was amazing having so many cars run around last night!

May do a little Spa prac tonight if anyone wants in

just did a 1.22.229 in the redbull seasonal for 232nd worldwide. there is soooo much time left on track.... crazy freaks doing 1.17's!!

*make that 1.21.266 for 119th
* update 1.20.96 for 104th

Thanks mate, I thought the point standings score board needed tidying up so with a little bit of photoshop work I've now got something that I believe matches the presentation of the rest of the series.

In regards to incidents there was nothing that warranted a penalty. In fact from reviewing the start of race 2 as well Fullgas didn't need to pull over and let everyone through as well, but kudos on doing what you thought was the right thing.

Also it appears that when you're hot, you're definitely hot! Just won the feature race at Speedway City tonight starting from pole and apparently I lapped up to 6th in a 20 car field and had half to 3/4 of a lap on 2nd and 3rd place. Was .6 from breaking the 20 lap race record and I backed off on the last lap because 4 lapped cars were all fighting in front of me!... :/ counting the races on here, I've 7/8 this month!

WOAH! get in Itz mate! absolutely killing it out there!, very well done and many congrats!! is there a championship you are going for or are the rounds individual? good luck for the rest of them and get a camera strapped to that car!, i want to see some more of the action!

ha ha ha i though in race 2 Gas got a false start penalty! not that he was being too overly kind and letting us disconnected fellahs through, really big thanks for that Gas, next time just hammer down! ha ah ha!

i also get into a bit of photoshop, i made my avatar.. its Casey Stoner riding a v8 supercar... titled "casey doesnt get it yet" ha ha ha ha, after his first few dunlop races didn't go so well... ha ha ha!

There are a couple of Track Championships that we could try and win, but I have personally banned everyone in the team from talking about Track Championship standings. This year the goal is that everytime we go to the track, we are there to win the final at the end of the night and it doesnt matter what points im scoring. This year the Australian Title is in South Australia and is actually at Speedway City (where i won last night) and that is really the big goal. Since i finished 3rd in the Title in bunbury this year, all ive really thought about is making sure we finish 2 spots higher next year! Its safe to say we've got the car, driver and the setups to win it, we just need all the good cards to be dealt our way on that one weekend next february. :)

thats great Itz!, i think shutting it all out and taking race by race would def be the best way to go about it, my nerves would get the best of me sometimes otherwise!... they do when we race for gods sake! ha ha ha ha! well i do wish you the very best of good fortune as you ob got all the bits and bobs to take the whole thing out! congrats on the round win again mate!

The other thing is that the one guy that everyone says is the benchmark for our class is the benchmark because he has won the majority of the races in the last 5 seasons, but no one could tell you what Track Championships he has won. So i'd rather not win the track championship and have 10 wins than only have 4 wins trying to win it and i could still fall short in both of them! :)

I guess at the end of the day it all comes back to the KISS theory! :)

DEF!, simple is best, the most direct route is usually the most economical and the more you blinker yourself to just focus on the point of exercise the more energy you can put into it!. I think you better show that guy whats what and become the new bench mark yourself! seems like thats actually happening naturally!

watching the v8's today?, am glues with my coffee and salad sandwich watching all the pre show hoopla... i honestly dont think the presentation is for anyone who actually likes the sport, who wants to see jack perkins doing surf life saving beach games?, GET IN THE CARS AND DRIVE!!!!... i am really over them trying to gain new younger cool viewers... This is motorsport, not the 2014 Mtv vma's. LOL! :) as soon as the cars start its alllllll ok though ha ha ha!.
