Track Talk #4: Cote De Azur

I like the idea of real circuits - Laguna Seca / Tokyo R246 / Côte D'Azur. It was an all new track in GT3 and was a bit daunting at first, but now I find it possibly one of the most rewarding tracks when I pull a fast, clean lap. :D I especially like the run from the chicane, past the swimming poll down to the hairpin right - get that right and you'll achieve some great times! :D

Looks stunning as well. :)

This is my all time favourite track.... I've loved this one since the days of Grandprix 2 on the PC, every corner on the circuit is a challenge, this is one track I've never put a perfect lap in, and probably never will, in any game on any system.... I've achieved close, but matching up section times I've always known I could do better :D :D

I don't like the one 180 degree turn in here where PD put an invisible barrier on the inside of it. Forcing you to not go up onto the curbing.

Ahh, Cote D' Azur, my favorite. I love this place. So technical, so demanding. One of the few tracks where you are perfectly capable of winning a race against more powerful and faster cars. At most other tracks, I'd say the emphasis on skill is about 60% driver, 40% car. But at this place, I'd crank that up to about 85% driver, 15% car.

great track! and I can practice it in either GT3 or F1 2001 :) I've been racing that track for years on F1 games, but still don't really know it, hahaha. About the invisible barrier, well, really that is a pretty steep one to be wanting to completely hop anyways. I think it woud, or should, throw you out of whack if you hit it. you can get a wheel up, just onto the otherside of its crest, so that is enough for me. On the skill side of things, you're completely right fury, I just popped that track up, me in an old school imprezza rally car and was almost keeping up with the bigboys :) (prolly coulda if I'd actually been trying to race) I think they should have a roadster enduro there!!!

This is my favourite track no matter what. SO much concentration needed to get each corner right.

This is track is also good because it's REAL and is used by proper F1 cars. Cote D' Azur kicks ares on any day.

Such a good track to cruise around in a Bohemoth eg Vanquish! not ASm or TCS :) Fun for the whole family.

I too have been hogging around in my vanquish lately, it's a blast!!! sounds pretty dang good as well. I like to deck out the engine and then leave the drivetrain and everything else stock, other than the weight watcher diet mod, and then use the R style shifting method to get real sounding shifts outta it. fun sidewaysmobile too ;) But back to cote de azur, I thought it was cool to see chunks of it while watching the monaco rally this evening :) There, I went back on-topic :D

I hated this track at first. Now that i have it memorised i kinda like it. I usually stop at one of the yachts in the harbor for a cocktail ,so my times aren't that good. :D
