You should update the server details now that it's running smoothly.

Jp, what's the Trackday Server? Please don't beat me down for not searching the AC Thread first for the answer, but I see your online right now....... :scared:

It's a server that @CC570 has set up for our benefit. There were some issues with it and then he went on holiday and it wasn't working properly. Now he's back and he has it all worked out (problem on the server end), and hopefully he'll update the OP today with some details. It's just a lobby he's set up with a particular car/track combination for us at GTP to enjoy and hopefully we can organize some racing there as well:tup:

Yeah, if it was working grrrr. They told me last night it was working. I just went to reset it today and the same problem occurred. The thing is that there is another server with the same ping that is running 16 slots with the mercedes sls. And what shows up on my available car list?? Thats right, 16 slots of the mercedes sls. It seems awful coincidental to me. I think the other server is being run on the same provider and there is a glitch or mistake in the server code and it is reading their entry_list.ini file instead of mine. But getting customer support to look into it is proving quite aggravating. i feel like I'm talking down into an empty barrel. Hopefully it will get fixed or I get a refund today and find a different service provider.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for your server, thanks, from a former Allentown, PA resident.........

Server is up, info in first post. I can get on this evening or afternoon if anyone is interested give me a holler.

Allentown? I grew up in Bethlehem, though I now live in Williamsport.

Actually, I lived in Whitehall, right up the hill from where the The George Washington Motor Lodge was. I think it's a Home Depot now.....

I'll try to be on in 60-90 mins work permitting.

Going in now. I'll probably try the Fiat first. Never drove the track before, just downloaded it.

Whew. Luccaring is a tough track to race on. Tight and unforgiving. Awesome to look at though. For today I've set up the server with another 3rd party track: Barbagallo. We will be running two Kunos cars The Ruf yellowbird and the Ferrari F-40.

This is a nice short track that is easy to learn. I can probably get on for a bit this evening will look for folks. Races are short so don't be shy about joining the room mid-race.

Might be on in an hour or so. Have to do a Steam Integrity check to see if my sounds come back on the F40 and eat first...

Are the cars/tracks going to change every day? I downloaded the track last night but hadn't even had a chance to drive on it yet. Maybe we could leave the same combo for a week so everyone has some time to practice and get in on some racing?

I'm open to anything. I would prefer to change tracks so to be able to have more variety. Once things getting running consistently we can maybe set-up a calendar for folks to plan their schedules? Maybe we can plan a race for Sunday and set the server up on Saturday to give people a chance to work out the kinks? Then rotate tracks some during the week? Or practice one weekday for a weekend race? Just throwing out some ideas.

If you want to try it this weekend I am up for it. Let me know a car/track combo, also practice, qualifying, race length so I can set the server up. If we can decide and get a thread started today it might help increase participation.

Whatever is best. I play AC very little so I was just hoping to be able to practice ahead of time so I don't show up on race day as rubbish. I'm racing with the Friday Fun guys tonight so I'll probably have had my fill of AC for a few days after that, but I can try to show up for something on Sunday (though I won't be very practiced).

I've done a run up in each of the three street cars on street tires. Exige was the fastest, but I much prefer the Evora.
The Evora is probably my favorite car to drive in AC, and one of the very few cars I've driven in a sim that I would consider keeping IRL if some one gave me one. (assuming the sim version is anything like the real car.:))

I suspect most of us will be on the Friday Fun Server tonight. Why don't you join us over there?

I wish I could, but my business keeps me busy all day and night Fridays. By the time my workday ends on Saturday afternoons, I typically sleep until Sunday. :). I am able to post occasionally (like now) because my business is home based. Which makes for a short commute.👍

Server reset: Practice today for race Sunday
will definintely try to get on tonight (hope the darts final is finished by then) but won't be doing any tuning...:dunce:

Anyone else here blown an engine yet? First time was a big surprise, suddenly all went dead and quiet.

Unfortunately we don't get to see the smoke in the rear-view mirror (yet), but it leaves you feeling very :O

Same here. I've overrevved the engine and caused it to light up, but I've blown some transmissions in practice in as little as 3 or 4 laps. Hard to get that heel and toe timing just right and it doesn't seem to take much:scared: I have 2x20 lap races at Donington National a bit later and I can't see finishing both in one piece.:sly:

Another issue I have been running into the last week or so is running out of fuel. Sometimes without changing anything on the car I end up running short on a race I ran several times already. Once I was 2 laps short at Spa. I am not sure what's going on there.

One of the native Lotus race cars sounds absolutely narly, when in cockpit view, you hit the rev limiter. It sounds like it is coughing up blood clots or maybe valve seats............so much so that I purposely was over revving. I'll give a try to grenade it just to see what creative sounds it may bellow out......
