As for NY circuit, why not PD's GT4 New York Circuit? đź’ˇ

That would be awesome, than again every driver would be dead by the end of the weekend.

Macau
Long Beach
Hong Kong Street Circuit from GT4 would also be pretty sweet, fast wide straights with lots of overtaking and amazing scenery!

Brno would be an uber boring race in F1 in my opinion. Where is there to overtake? No long straights?

I agree with the guy who said Circuit de la Sarthe. That circuit would be awesome in F1, though the laps are a little long. They used to run GPs at the Nordschleife right? So I guess the lap length isn't much of a problem.

Would like to see how an F1 race at Sebring would go aswell.

Lap is about 3 minutes at La Sarthe, but it's extremely bumpy, and certain cars have a tendency to somersault on the straights.

Hmm with the amount of downforce the cars generate, and the fact they're open wheeled and can't get a great deal of air underneath them because of the lack of surface area... I don't think it would be a problem.

Lets just hope they don't drive into each others teammates halfway down the Mulsanne!

That may be a good idea you brought up, that circuit has some wide straights with plenty of overtaking spots provided for cars. It should be exciting to watch the whole race held there, specifically when they have a battle around those spots. And it plainly looks like a circuit which an F1 race can be held in my opinion. :D

I see a couple of problems with that:
1) From memory, the long straight leading up to the flyover and the hairpin is only two lanes wide, which is cleary too narrow for a Formula 1 car.
2) The pits are nowhere near big enough to accomodate twenty-four (twenty-six in 2011) cars.
3) The man straight is way too short.
4a) There is no access to the circuit on the bridge over the water. Should an accident take place there, marshalls should have to drive out to it (which will be even further than it is in the game since the main straight would have to be moved).
4b) What happens if, in the worst-case scenario, a driver crashes and ends up in the water below?

Bumping...

We can't see old hockenheim again. :indiff:

I'm sure a better layout could be found... As for hockenheim, tear down the trees and recreate the old track... I loved that track. One of my favourites... And who doesn't remember the disgruntled mercedes employee running down the track... If i remember rightly, eddie irvine almost hit him (or at least had to move aside quickly)... Or was that the one at silverstone?

Yeah, but I'm sure Bernie stated that one of the reasons f1 would never return there was that it would make "bad television" as the parade lap would take an age. So maybe he would be disagreeable on a long track for this reason.

I'd love the nordschleife to return to f1, but I doubt they could get the safety up to the fia's required level... But i disagree that it would make bad television. The nordschleife almost has a "cult following" among non racing fans... This is probably down to programmes like top gear, but quite a lot of people I know who aren't into racing have asked me about it. I think that if F1 returned to the green hell, the tv ratings and ticket sales would be absolutely through the roof. It would probably have the effect of a home grand prix throughout many countries (in that some people who wouldn't normally watch f1 will watch their home grand prix). Interested to hear if anyone else agrees.

I think Anthony Davidson believes that a time of 2:50 would be possible for f1 cars. He said this on one of the practice programmes for the turkish Gp, when asked about the upcoming 24 hours... Think it was 2:50... Would love to see it.

Everyone that lives on my street heard me swearing when that happened... On a side note, you've just reminded me of a joke that my friend texted me...

I texted him to say that Morrisons (supermarket) were selling 8 packs of red bull for ÂŁ5 (a four pack is usually ÂŁ4.35... Love that stuff, but it's a bit on the pricey side). I said that the 8 pack had a picture of the RB6 and Sebastian Vettel on the side of it.

My friend responded "was it trying to knock other drinks off the shelf?"

Same thing that would happen at monaco... Every year, they have divers located at the harbour should a driver end up in there.

and that one on that japanese island. Aida i think it was

Did a little research on wiki as i also miss the track. Turns out that that circuit is currently known as Okayama... I was aware of Okayama, but didn't realise that TI Aida was the same circuit... It currently holds the Japanese round of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_WTCC_season and has done since 2008 (the first FIA approved race there in some time). I remember watching the 2009 WTCC races at Okayama on TV, and thought it looked familiar. Now i know why.

Okayama used to host the Pacific Grand Prix back in the mid-90s. It wasn't very popular: the circuit was narrow, slow and very difficult to access.

They should have
Road America/Laguna seca on rotation basis
Imola if they improve safety standards so that they can put back tamburello and villeneuve chicanes back in.
Brands Hatch but there'd need to be a massive upgrade in pit facilities
Algarve
Fuji/motegi on a rotation basis for the pacific gp
Hermanos rodriguez
Circuit de Paul Ricard
and lastly the A1-ring

Is that a serious suggestion?

Because I seriously doubt Bernie would have a race run on a circuit created for a videogame, especially considering the fact that he seems to like the idea of having Formula 1 racing on circutis that were designed for Formula 1 first and evry other racing series second.

And the curbs are a bit high, they'll just spin all the time.

Like me :D

Don't laugh.... Indianapolis going anti-clockwise with MotoGP chicane.

I don't know... if someone had a few hundred million (Or maybe even a couple of billion) dollars at hand, I don't think anyone would mind introducing a real life Grand Valley Speedway to F1 (Minus the bridge, don't want people flying off that now do we).

That would sure have a few decent overtaking spots, good long straights and a good mix of fast and slow corners, with slight elevation changes. The downhill section after the fast S bends, leading to a tight hairpin, would make for great racing 👍.

Now we just need a grand valley that won't require too much quarrying for the track!

Yep :)

And from Bernie's point of view, there are a lot of grandstands, and the pit complex is second to none. (I like the way i'm commenting on the pit facilities of a fictional track...)

The only problem I would see, is that it might be in a remote location.

I hear the land going to be used for an F1 circuit in Texas is quite large, with good elevation changes. If you're listening Tilke ;) You know what to do.
