If Mercedes go to the end on these tires then that's not a good sign for the rest of the season.

I'd say that was a massive safety fail on the part of the race marshals
Not really. All done under VSC and debris cleared in a few seconds. That is how it should be done when drivers actually respect the yellows. We don't need 6 lap safety cars all the time for nothings.

Alonso is out... again.
Stroll makes it 36 laps and retires.

Brundle did note the graining & you can see the rubber peeling off. Kimi also doesn't think it's an easily doable task.

Looks like a big gamble by George.

Fair. It just seemed mega sketchy to have safety crews physically run out onto the track in a high-speed section (even under VSC) with cars still running.

Edit: Both Stroll and Alonso are shown as out. Completely missed what happened to Stroll.

They asked George pretty soon how the tires feel. He could have changed his mind by now.

Probably didn't want to hurt his hands more.

I wasn’t expecting much from Andretti Cadillac and I wasn’t disappointed. Still, I’m hoping for real improvement this year.

If drivers respect yellows, you can do an AWFUL lot under even just double yellow flags. I appreciate that historically in F1 we never see drivers slow down properly under yellows so I understand your jumpiness, but this is a step in the right direction.

Still would be better as an FCY than a VSC limited by speed not laptime but it would have taken about 2-3 minutes for anyone to go trackside if they went Safety Car and it really didn't need to disrupt the race that much for a bargeboard offline.

Looking at the timing board, Checo is steadily losing several tenths to Sainz.

I know the Cadillac is literally brand-new, but I think he might have some kind of issue.

Well the racing is not as bad as I thought it would be. There seems to be a lot of overtakes happening.

Now, Mercedes....how are they keeping those tires and that pace? Ferrari is not closing the gap at all....Lewis look to be closing on Charles but charles is not gaining at all to Kimi.

35 laps and still running 23.0, it didnt matter what Ferrari did or didnt do in the pits.

And what is it with the little screens on the left from time to time? If there comes something up, i expect something important like an overtake and not looking ann Kimi's helmet for a minute. Very distracting and useless.

The Audi livery has grown on me, that car looks mean.
Same. Simple but unique. Reminds me a bit of the Kolles run Audi R10s. I.e. Not the usual Audi silver but more of a matte style grey/silver

I have to say after my first weekend of watching F1 on AppleTV, it's just been ok. Not better than Sky but not worse either. Just ok.

Gabby and Audi P9 :)

Like, I know they're basically Sauber 2 (or whatever they are at this point), but I expected them in the low to mid-teens.

Also, Aston Martin sending out both their cars after they "retired" was hilarious  somehow El Jefe and Stroll returned
