Trade Deadline Resets at 12am (Midnight) GMT (Officially!)

Its official, the trade deadline resets universally at 12am (Midnight) GMT, or 7pm EST.

Some people have said 24 hours, some have said 20 hours but i have tested this theory and ruled out both.

I just did 3 trades that confirm this:

1. Sent a car from main account at 2pm today, and another at 7:30pm. This rules out the theory that it resets at midnight in your respective timezone, and also that you have to wait 20/24 hours.

2. My brothers account sent a car at 7:05pm yesterday, I tried to sent at 6:57pm (20 hours) No dice, Tried at 7:01 and car went though.

3. Sent a car from a duplication account last night at 12:05am, just sent another one at 7:45pm


If you take these 3 experiments into account you can see that 20/24 our theorys are definitely not accurate. You can also see that i sent 2 cars from the same account within 5 hours of each other. Considering everybody has been having random results (diff time zones) this makes alot of sense.
 
Wow, that's quite odd. So theorictally, you could trade at 6:59, then right again at 7:01 ?

It all depends on your timezone. If you are in the east of US it resets at 7pm but if you are in a different timezone you have to figure out how many hours ahead/behind you are from 12am GMT.
 
I was supposed to make a trade a few days ago. I had traded the day before at 10:41pm EST. The next day when the time came to make my next trade I attempted to send the car at 10:35pm EST. It wouldn't go through stating I had reached my limit for the day. I waited until 10:41pm EST and sent the car straight through. The game made me wait exactly 24 hours in between sending cars.

However, with that being said I just tested the theory stated in the original post using an alternate account. I sent a car from an alternate account to my main at a little after 2am EST this morning. I was just able to send another car to my main from that same alternate account at a little after 9pm EST. Therefore confirming that a 24 hour wait was not(or at least no longer) required.
 
I encourage more users to come forward with their experiences. Im 99.999% certain that it is 12am GMT.

Ive been keeping timestamped logs for the past few days and it just didnt add up...
 
Yah, I think you got that right. It's definitely not 24 hours, and iirc I was always able to trade past midnight GMT.

I've always traded around that time. I thought it was a full 24 hour period, but I always wondered that as I got more efficient with multiple accounts and therefore quicker, that I was sometimes a few minutes ahead of a full 24 hour cycle. So I'd agree with the 7pmEST/12amGMT reset.

Just today I kept trying to hit a trade around 6:58pm EST and at 7:00 it went through.
 
ok sweet. ima test it right now. send car to other account at 7:30 pm pst. and ill edit this post when i can send another one!!
 
Yep, it's definitely 7PM EST, so 12AM GMT. All my accounts have had the gift slot reset at that time since I started using them after patch 1.05.
