anyone watching the Trans Am right now, at Mosport Park in canada. i love speed channel, best thing thats ever come from my cable provider. WRC, Trans Am, Le Mans....

anyways, looks like everyone is having trouble sticking to the pit speed limit of 45...lots of stop n go. pretty nice race so far. the battle for 2nd it pretty tight.

buddy, if you like speed channel, you would have loved speedvision. well, i hope you enjoy the channel. i'm boycotting it.

i had speedvision for maybe 3 weeks or something. then it changed to speed channel. what was the big difference. i dont think i had it long enough to tell. i thought they were the same channel but decided to change names.

Well, I would be lying if I said there are no nice advantages that Speed Channel has over Speedvision, but there are some problems.

  • Inferior endurance racing coverage. Full coverage vs. quarter coverage.
  • A huge NASCAR bias. You can count some 50 airings of NASCAR or NASCAR similar programmingin a week.
  • Because of the decision to acquire the CART races, most, and to get some of the NASCAR races or show the ones they can on tape delay, many races that would have aired at the same time on Speedvision will be delayed
  • Rick Debhrul is not as good as Bob Varsha at F1 announcing.
  • Redubbing the WRC footage with that ??? Sheheens awful voice when the British guys voice was just fine.
  • Having the 24 hours of Daytona interrupted for regularlar programming, like an infommercial.
  • Near daly NASCAR in primetime.
  • Uncertainty over whether touring races like the DTM or BTTC will be aired later.
  • A seemingly lower level of care for the road racing enthusiast.

Ask anyone that had Speedvision for at least 3 months to a year, most will tell you that despite some of the new stuff, they miss it.

so are they two different channles? is there still a speedvision? i thought it was the same channel, but just switched names and programming.

by the way, i have noticed the large amount of NASCAR programming. i like WRC, Trans Am, LeMans, and im starting to get into F1...but i really cant get into nascar. everyone is showing nascar, from fox to espn and FX. they should dump a bunch of that nascar stuff on speedchannel.

Speed Channel is NASCAR TV... don't you know that? it's owned by Fox... so they give all their ****ing worthless NASCAR coverage to Speed during the week...

and they cut WRC programming to show NASCAR highlights...

well, are they two different channels? with the commercials i saw before speedvision switched to speedchannel, it just seemed like they were changing names and formatting. is there still a speedvision out there?

thats a shame. we get nascar shoved down our throats with no alternative. are there any other speedchannel type channels? probably on satellite, but i dont have that.
