Transferring files help

I recently got a new PC. I need the files from my old computer but i can't use the internet because its not internet ready yet, or write them to disk (because Nero did something to my CD drive :grumpy: ) to send them to my new PC.

Has anyone got any suggestions how I can do this, without spending money because im cheap. :dopey:

I tried using an Internet cable that came with the PC to connent them but I couldn't figure out, So i don't know if this way works.

Being cheap is nothing to crow about - any way that you could remedy this problem won't come free or for $10.

If you're willing to spend - and you come across as not being very willing - you could get ahold of a copy of Norton Ghost. That makes a copy of your whole hard drive that you can then upload to your new PC.

If you don't want to spend anything, get a copy using various "resources". ;)

Oh, and you'll need a CD burner for this. No other way. I forgot most of my networking, otherwise I'd help you get one set up right now. :ouch:
 
Take your old HDD out and install it into the new computer and set it as Slave on the IDE channel. Copy the files you want from the old HDD to the new one in Windows.

Or you could network the two computers together via a crossover cable/network cable and transfer your files via ethernet... Thereby saving yourself the hassle of removing your harddrive from the computer you're transferring files from.

But then you have the hassle of setting up a network between the two computers. ;)
 
Come on guys, all you have to do is use this new program called TelepathyComp, and it magically appears on the other hard drive. 💡 Where have have you guys been :dunce:. ;)
 
An unrealistic option would be a USB stick. Cheap, but it takes time. Try moving just 4 gigs with a 125MB USB stick. Only takes 5 hours or so. ;)
