Transferring Game Saves...

I was looking around GT4 this morning and I came across a function called Transfer Game Data... This was in the Status screen in Home.

So I pressed it and it asked if I wanted to import GT4:P save data... I said no (Already done the licences anyway)

It then asked if I wanted to import 100,000 from GT3... I said no as I didn't want the money...

It then informed me that I had no memory card in Slot 2...

Could it be that this function can be used to export your current save to Memory Card 2?

Thus negating the need to use the browser to copy your data?

i think the game just checks both memory card slots for gt3 and prologue saves.

Yep, I did both and now when I click on it it just says "you have already transfered data from GT3"

- this is NTSC/U so they may have changed things for PAL
 
OK Dokey...

I only have 1 Mem card...

And I said No to both Q's so expected that it would then go away and not ask me anything... but then it asked about MC2... so thought maybe it was a way to save to MC2.

Mods... may as well close.

To transfer data from GT3, you need a second memorycard where you're GT3-data is on?
coz my gt3 data stands on the same memorycard as my gt4 data
 
I only have one MC, and it still let me transfer money from my GT3 save OK. It seems that you can only transfer licences from GT4: Prologue though, at least in the PAL version.

How do you transfer the money then from GT3?

Put in a memory card with a GT3 save.

I used Memory Card Manager (boot up with no CDs in the drive) to copy GT3 Game Save Data over to a new memory card just for GT4.

Go to your home in GT4, and in the top right of the screen click on status. One of the options should be to transfer data or something to that effect. (I think you have to press start) The game will then check both MC slots looking for GT3 or Prologue saves. If it finds one, it'll offer you the option of transferring up to 100,000 credits from your GT3 save, or the first two licences from Prologue.
