I bought this game at my local EBgames for $49.99 new yesterday. Ive been a fan of the series, and I got the demo in this months Official Playstation Magazine. And I thought, "Damn, this game looks amazing, yet it has a gameplay of like Socom." Well, when I bought the game, I first played as Optimus Prime. I must say, transforming into vehicle mode is damn right cool. Them little Mini-Cons really come in handy. Esspecially when you get the motion sensor rockets. Thats just comes in handy. If you play the game, you got the Army feel, like I said, socom. You think its shoot the AI, they get hit right? WRONG! The AI can deflect your shot and dodge them. I was like damn, look at that robot run, I shot he does a face plant into the ground. And he gets up, I shoot again, he deflects it back and I had to move. The AI is very impressive. And the bosses are quite tough. You make a mistake, you basically are mulched. The level detail is just amazing. The water could be better, but its not Mario Sunshine is it? The graphics are clean, the gameplay is amazing, and everything else is about real. I'd say if you like military style games, this is about good as your gonna get from being away from being Socom. Just I wish there was the online capability. But anyway, I end my post, What do you think about this game.

BTW, anyone here a Transformers fan?
 
I've played that demo too and I found it very fun.

If I had any monies at all I would go and buy it but I'm saving up for my tour of Seth Efrica next year.

Gamezville said that it got very hard quick, is that the case?
 
As do I.

As I have little monies, would you suggest me getting this or holding on to my funds for the likes of GT4, GTA:SA, DMC3 etc...?

GT4 and GTA: SA are not gonna come out for awhile.
This game will keep you busy.

Damn right it hard. And I'm at the Mid-Atlantic and its tell me I gotta Glide. In the manual or nothing never told me how glide. I didn't know Robot can glide.:confused:
 
I'm a transformers fan from way back. I still have some of the originals...though none of them are the ultra-valuable dicast ones.

It's nice to here that the game is pretty good. Honestly, I don't like the new series at all. it's way to patronistic. I realize that the orignal series was too with Spike, Sparkplug(LOL), Chip and Carley but at least they wern't 10 years old. Anyway.....I'll have to go rent this game and see for myself.

i have the Japanese version, but didnt get the us version yet, is there any difference in the 2 ???

{besides the obvious language difference ;) }
 
I won't know. I have the American version.

And when you get to the Mid-Atlantic stage. go to the right, which should be like a beach, go straight to the Mini-con on the mountain. It gives you the ablity to glide. You'll need that in order to get to the Decepicon ship. ( AKA Tidal Wave. )
 
Is it just me, or my HDTV set, but is this game just down right gorgeous!?

I hate the controls; I can't get use to them. It's a very hard game.

I'll continue to try to get use to it. It looks worthy.

The game looks almost real. Everything to the robots to the scenary. Its just a amazing looking game. But I do wish, Red Alert, Star Scream, and Cyclonus sounded like they do on the show. It kinda disappointed me there.
 
Yeah, and there's an Aussie developer as well. :) So are all the characters from ages ago still on there? I heard it brings back some nostalgia with some of the characters, and I used to love that show when I was a kid.
 
Another thread reminded me of this game. has anyone else play this? I started to play it and got sidetracked with many other games that I own. It seemed ok as long as you dont get Optimus. He sure was slow when you convert to the Semi.
 
I played the demo that was on Driv3r, it was suprisingly good. The tranformation was the coolest bit for me. I don't think I'll be buying it though as there are more important games around the corner.
 
This is one of the best PS2 games i've ever played (in terms of basically everything being perfect) and is definately the best looking PS2 game in existance (according to me anyway).

Didn't find it all that hard and the second time i rented it i finished it. A seriously impressive game though (i played the demo of it in Driv3r).
