those track sketches look like anime drawings more than blueprints or the track layout maps that I have seen of real life tracks.

Don't worry, those are just images of the in game geometric track models. It shows all the polygons and what not.

1969 Ford GT40 Race car
MR, 500hp/6500rpm, 60kgfm/5000rpm

Ford's racing/road legal car of the 1960's. Won Le Mans in 1966, 1968 and 1969.
This is disappointing (the text, not your translation oosacker) :

The Gulf GT40 won Le Mans only in 68 and 69. In 66 it was a GT40 Mk II (and in 67 a GT40 Mk IV).

PD is going so much in detail for a FIAT 500 (500F, 500L and 500R) or for a phantasy car (Ford GT LM Race Car and Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II), and are so general about the original car of GT4's cover car.

I bet they even took the 1966 GT40 street car out of the game, because it would be as fast as the 2005 Ford GT.

Hey, wait a minute. They didn't write in 66, 67, 68 and 69! There's written : in 66, 68 and 69 ... This makes me think that the GT40 Mk IV will be in GT4 :dopey: :dopey:

I find it funny that on the track pics they don't have all the checkpoints... or even where the start/finish line is... (you normally can work that out though by looking for the pits...)
those arent the timing checkpoints.
They are the photo box out locations related in the article :)

Unfortunately, I've found Pro Logic II to be a bit of a trade-off. In exchange for the extra channels, you lose some of the bass. I've tested it on quite a few PLII-encoded games, and while the surround sound is "richer", the normal stereo sound is "deeper", with more oomph from the subwoofer than PLII has (because it has only 5 channels, not 5.1.. there's no dedicated LFE for the subwoofer).

If anyone's found a workaround or a setting for recievers that could alleviate this, please let me know. :) I'm very much looking forward to racing GT4 in PLII. :)

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

Um..Have you tried playing Soul Calibur II with your sound system? The surround sound stuff really does WORK! Like for example, during that level with water and a pirate ship, if you fight next to the edge, you will hear a water running sound from the back/front/left/right/side etc. depending on the angle. The Subwoofer also works during the game to as you hear the crashing sounds of your oppoenent being slammed to the ground. I use the Klipsch Promedia GMX-5.1 and its working for me! :embarrassed:

FFX-2 is also a good example but only in the cinamatics. I also find GT3 having some kind of support but not sure. Like if I was to take my Supra and speed in a tunnel and THEN PAUSE! You would here the fainting echo of the Supra's exhuast. To tell you the truth Jedi master:tup: I don't know what you mean by LFE :odd: but I am just trying to tell you that I believe this Prologic II will work for sure.

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454
FR, 456hp/5600rpm, 69kgfm/3600rpm

Chevrolet's flagship muscle car, bearing the SS (super sport) badge. The engine power was over 400 horse power.

1971 Plymouth Cuda 440 Six Pack
FR, 390hp/4600rpm, 66.4kgfm/2300rpm

With big power and big displacement, this was a classic muscle car. This was Baracuda's sport version, but the Cuda became the main model in the 70's.

1967 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30)
FR, 150hp/6600rpm, 21kgfm/4800rpm

The representative car of Japan. The long-nose, short deck style was a huge hit in America. The added overt fenders look aggressive.

1972 Lotus Europa Special
MR, 128hp/6500rpm, 15.6kgfm/5500rpm

The car that ignited the supercar boom in Japan. The rear shape of the car housing the engine makes it distinguishable.

1973 Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR
FR, 110hp/6700rpm, 14.2kgfm/4800rpm

The first Lancer. This model was the most sports oriented version, and won many rallies overseas.

1974 Jensen Interceptor Mark III
FR, 390hp/4700rpm, 67.7kgfm/3200rpm

A monster car using a Chrysler 7212cc V8 OHV powerplant. The max output was 284hp at 4800rpm.

1973 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

image003.gif

FR, 160hp/7000rpm, 18kgfm/5600rpm

Nicknamed "Kenmeri", short for Ken and Mary's Skyline, named after the advertising campaign. This car used the S20 type engine and improved performance. (This is the car that owned the Japanese touring car races for a long time, until the rotary powered Mazdas appeared.)

1970 Honda Z ACT
FF, 31hp/8500rpm, 3kgfm/5500rpm

Developed in the 70's, the 356cc, 36 horsepower super compact car was only 3 metres long.

1970Toyota Celica 1600GT (TA22)
FR, 115hp/6400rpm, 14.5kgfm/5200rpm

Released as the county's first speciality car, the top model Celica had a flowing long nose, short deck design.

1970 Marcos Mini Marcos GT
FF, 77hp/5900rpm, 10.9kgfm/3000rpm

Made by the kit car maker, Marcos, this sports car had a FRP body.

The oil shock that hurt the growing car industry
With the rapid growth of the car industry, a new problem became apparent in the 1970's. One problem was air pollution caused by exhaust fumes, and another was the war in the middle east in 1973 which caused the worldwide large fossil fuel price increase. People still wanted high powered cars, but as cars became more common, people also wanted environmentally friendly and future proof cars.Something that changed car making in the ealy 70's was the Muskie Act which was placed in order to regulate the amount of exhaust gases. This was thought of as "impossible" to clear with the curernt technology by many at the time. Because of this, many of the high power, high output cars of the 60's disappeared, and the race to develop new technologies was on.

"Surround Sound Angel" Lady McLaren is... All I can say is that if it works, use it.

These translations are coming along very well and the news from the translated preview book is coming down like rain. The majority of the ones I seen are pretty spectacular to say the least. We can actually PLAY the damn game in March. March for sports fans means March Madness (college basketball), and for us race fans, the 12 Hours of Sebring. I believe it's going to be the 53rd or 54th Edition, I'm not sure. Anyhow, keep up the good work! 👍

I was just making a new desktop wallpaper out of that last page when I noticed it said "2500KB". I'm guessing that's how much memory card space GT4 will take up so make sure you guys have enough room. Personally, I'm getting a new card just for this game.

i already have this:

anyone else want one for christmas?

i think the real GT4 mem card came out, one without the prologue.

2500 KB? That's about as much for me saving my Dynasty Progress in NCAA Football 2005! Unless there was some way to maybe lessen the resolution of the pictures. Keep in mind that there is a Jump Drive where you can take data from your Memory Card and save it on your computer for long-time storage. So there is a chance that if you have this PS2 Jump Drive, you may be able to take data from games you've previously played and store it on your computer for more storage and use the unused space to put on your data. But if that's still not enough, you'll need another Memory Card.

If I get "GTA: San Andreas" for Christmas, I may have to get an extra Memory Card anyways. Other than that, have some Plan B's for the Memory Card deal, alright?

If saves require that much space, and with the amount of pictures/replays I plan on having, perhaps I really will need a 2nd card. I've got a SharkPort, but the price of a second card is worth it, as the SP can be a pain transfering stuff on a regular basis. Besides, I have yet to try it with my slim PS2, as I've heard rumours it doesn't work :-|.

Perhaps a PM is in order, if indeed the GT4 memory cards have been released, Navy 👍

390hp versus 284hp?
Translation error or contradiction in the booklet?

What current "sim" is better than GT4? Name some games instead of just stating this.

The game does have Bodykits but they're purely functional (thank god)

The AI is no longer stupid, it's about 5% of human capabilities. I consider that good, especially as KY isn't an arrogant guy.

Cockpit view has nothing to do with PS2 limitations. You try making 700+ cockpits which all work in a completely different way, therefore all require unique programming.

Grand Prix Legends...... Richard Burns Rally...... GTR racing.......netKar remember at the end gt1 gt2 gt3 and gt4 is not a full out 100% sim....that is y forza and enthusia gold is to beat gt in this area lol i still dont think the can full it off 👎 . i have GTR Racing and that's down rite hard it's a full out sim.... so is Richard Burns Rally this is what u call full out sim.....if gt was to come as a full out sim....like gtr racing or gran prix legends not much people would buy it well i would ... so gt is not a full out sim... it is a sim game but not a full out like the big boys on the pc, but it's still my fev...racing game in the world :dopey:

I checked the original and found it was an error in the actual booklet.
Looks like PD is screwing it up here. Supercars.net gives 220.1 bhp @ 3600 rpm

... and 1823 kg
0 - 60 mph in 10.4 seconds : performance comparable to a Golf GTI Mk I :)
