I haven't really seen anyone mention in their posts about the 4th and 5th gears of the GTI V. I don't know if its just me or my version of the game but the 4th and 5th gears are exactly the same. It's not the transmission settings as everything is standard and the only thing I did with the car was give it N3 (Road) tires.
At 60 MPH, the tachometer reads as follows
2nd gear = 5900 rpm
3rd gear = 4100 rpm
4th gear = 3100 rpm
5th gear = 3100 rpm
6th gear = 2500 rpm
At first I thought that the reason for this was that the actual car is a 5-speed instead of a 6-speed. That Polyphony Digital simply made a mistake. However, I checked Volkswagens website and it confirmed that the WV Golf V GTI is fitted with a 6-speed. This is strange though since in the game (well my game anyway), the GTI V can only truly utilize 5 gears instead of the 6 it's supposed to have.
