Sorry if this is a repeat thread or I'm asking in the wrong place but how am I supposed to tune a gearbox for general track racing, my knowledge goes to the point of getting the top speed suited to the track (ie. set the speed as fast as you are able to achieve on the fastest part of the course), but apart from that I have no real idea what I'm doing.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or advise me
Thanks

Reset to default
Final Gear all the way to the right
Top Speed all the way to the left
1st gear all the way to the left
2nd gear on the 20% mark (look under and you'll see 20 small marks indicating an assumed 5% each)
3rd gear 40%
4th gear 60%
5th gear 80%
6th gear all the way to the right
Lower Final Gear until the Top speed in the top right corner, is correct for the track needed.

If you don't understand the marks:
Reset to default
Final Gear all the way to the right
Top Speed all the way to the left
1st gear all the way to the left
6th gear all the way to the right
Space 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th evenly in between using the graph as a guide.
Lower Final Gear until the Top speed in the top right corner, is correct for the track needed.

I think i understand, thank you. If its a 5 speed box do I just adjust the percentages accordingly (ie. make 5th all the way to the right)?

thanks for the advice, seems to feel a lot smoother going through the rev range now. Now all i have to do is get rid of the occasional understeer going into corners and tendancy to spin away all its power coming out and this tamora will be ready to race!

I'd make these changes listed above. LSD, Brake Bal, Front Toe. I usually run higher ride heights as well, 0/0 but up to you.

i gave those settings a go and it knocked .2 off my lap (changed the brake balance to 7/7 though, the rear bias made it lock up under hard braking)
I'm a little unclear on how the toe in/out and camber affect things?

Camber and toe looks decent. You could even try a bit negative rear toe, but this is often not that great on a rwd car.

A lot of people overlook those settings as they don't fully understand how they effect the car. Sometimes even a small adjustment one way or the other can have a drastic impact on how the car behaves.
